I liked the Buick, Olds and Pontiac in that intermediate body style.

With an old VW Beetle you have a floorboard that is corroded by a battery, which will literally fall through onto the road.

That aluminum V8 is what Peter Brock put in his 1971 VW low-light van.

At least those floor boards are quite easy to replace, and eventually to make one out of some material with a better resistence to rust.

I am telling polymetal that you are cheating on it with another material!

I need to replace my heater core [again], but I still do not have an RMA. I want to flush my cooling system, but it seems that people usually flush the core, not the rest of the system.

The core is new and bad, but there is rust in the rest of it.

I do not have enough buckets to soak the towels that I used to clean the heater core's...discharge...and flush, so I need to drain the towels the best that I can, flush the block, get and test a third core, install it, and then worry about the dents, bad paint, cracked windshield and dry-rotted passenger sun visor.

Funny, my interior is black, but I did not realize that my ceiling and visors were grey until the last time that I laid under the dash!

Grey should be much easier to find!

Only the sweetest cars have a to-do list like this, right?

Why not try a coolant stop leak treatment? Might save the pull and replace effort?

My son was death set against that, but had some sort of intake crack that a bottle cured, then he went and drained the system which is sill sealed.

Stop leak isn't a fix, it's a band-aid to keep the poor beast going a little bit longer.

When the car has been wrecked and you've collected more in insurance payouts than you paid for the car and still driving it in the damaged condition. I paid $2000. for my '02 Escort in 2008 with 80K miles. In 2010 a lady hit it and did about $2900. damage. Here it is 2020 the car has 200K miles, I've made $900. profit on the car and still driving it.

Considering some folks get the same effect for a considerably lower price resorting to only an egg, and sometimes a handful of cornmeal, it doesn't seem worth the expense

Plain white rice or oatmeal also but they take longer to seal. Anything glutinous that swells when wet.

Iirc, the bottle we used had a warranty for the block against damage caused by the fix. Not sure how good that warranty is......
