Sounds like preparing a private airplane takeoff or formula1 preparation (oil and tyres prewarming etc)

I told myself I wouldn't post on this until I've read every previous post. But I was thinking yesterday while I was executing P&G and just had to share my thoughts. Hopefully someone else didn't post this idea!

YKYAEM if... you start thinking about the complexities that might becoming a problem if everybody started to P&G!
We might have to have a timing system and (LOL) everybody pulses and glides at the same time. Certain lanes for different gliding distances??? Wouldn't that be crazy?!

The more people that get into hypermiling, the harder it might become to do it???

if everybody would be hypermilers then they could be all tailgating - therefore forming a big wind-corridor. No need to pulse and glide when you can tailgate. You probably can get better/similar average fuel consumption when tailgating at 100kmh than P&G'ing 80-100-80 km/h
At least I choose to tailgate bus/truck at 100km/h and I get better-similar FE if weather allows it (no rain/mist or other bad visibility)

YKYAEM... if you read and post into this thread

Ha! That's a fun thought, myrefuge! How 'bout colored stripes on the roads to indicate pulse sections and glide sections? No, that wouldn't work either...

Oy, I sure hope not!

Ha! If everyone would be tailgating, then no-one would want to be first and would be more than happy if someone passed them - the exact opposite of how most people drive today.

YKYAEM if...
... You can't wait for your 3 month old to grow up enough so that the wife doesn't have to sit next to him in the car. If I could get her to sit in the front again, then that would be one seat (17kg) less in the rear.

Until you start considering a divorce and a release for adoption, your hypermiling obsession might still be curable
