If you dig around here, I vaguely recall a thread about a competition to see who could get the best lap time + best fuel economy in a Prius in one of the Gran Turismo games. Or longest EV mode... I forget.

YKYAEM when you stop at gas stations for everything EXCEPT gas.
YKYAEM when your commute is 50+ miles each way, and you go a whole week between fillups.

^ Same here. I can't help but compare the blasts of turbulence coming out of various cars' front wheel wells that you can see perfectly on a wet road.

YKYAEM when you are stuck behind a school bus on a rural road for ten miles, and all you think is "This is great: 55 to 20 pulse and glides" while realizing that it's only adding about 2 minutes to total travel time.

The whole 4 lane highway is on the verge of overload filled with cars and trucks driving almost bumper to bumper at a more or less steady speed of about 40 mph.
So many people close together and only one of them is smiling.

YKYAEM when you punch up the nav in the morning and it says 44 miles to work. Then you look that the UltraGauge and it says DTE: 44 miles.
And you smile because the nav also expects you to get there 2 minutes early, so you can take it easy, get better mileage and get gas after work with your longest tank of the season.
And when you get to work the UltraGauge says DTE: 2 miles, which is fine because the gas station is only a half mile away.
