The Triac 3-wheeler assembly plant in Salinas, CA., failed and left (taking a half million city dollars) while Aptera should have been a "sign" about money and 3-wheelers.

Triac ran off with half a million... so did they really fail?

They certainly failed in Salinas! They built 1, and drove it to Santa Cruz for a charging station opening, so that 1 did not fail. I don't think I would dare to drive a Triac in Salinas- I value my life too much
I know very little if the main company failed. All news stopped- as far as I know they could drop a hemi in it

Triac left with the money so they did not fail. But Aptera was not as lucky- I read somewhere that they had to return all the down payments. Oh well; win some / lose some!!

Hey Frank,I saw your post about your net surf, that posting had the wrong date on it.My project began Nov 2007...so I would not be posting things about it back in 1999....just to put you at ease.

Zoltanbod, Thanks for posting your photos of your project.
Good luck with the finished product. Looking forward to tests of the economy.

I'm curious about what the various vents are for? Are they all engine cooling, or something else as well?

The narrow slots or grille openings adjacent the licence plate area allow high velocity air to enter into a duct and then diffuse at a higher pressure into the radiator core pick up heat energy and exit through the hood vents.
The sunken vents on the fender tops behind the headlights are to release underhood pressure and heat.
The side vents by the front tires are to release pressure from the wheel housings.
The arcing indentations in the front fenders are removable wheel skirts.

Zoltan: you should go to California and get a city or state grant to build these things. Looks like they'll fund anyone and the best part is, you don't even have to follow through.

haha! I'm not sure that very many people realize how FEW sites from 1999 are still up on the interwebs.
