I got down to 50.1 yesterday before the phenomenal trip last night. This feels like plenty of cushion!
The SG has been within 1% of actual mileage the past few tanks, so this should be my first 50  I'm hoping for another 55-60 mpg trip tonight. That should solidify this tank!

The last two fills have been 50.88 and 51.02 mpg for the Ecoscort. These are 103.5% and 104.1% over EPA 
Lean burn will be going on tomorrow. This should put me into the 50's for good, and I have a shot at getting into the 60's this year before the cold sets in. |

Yesterday marked one year since I logged my first fill into Ecomodder. Woohoo!
I decided to retire Ecoscort. It had a spectacular run with 2 50+ mpg tanks to finish out its first year.
61 fills later, I have averaged 43.45 mpg the past year. That is 73.8% over the EPA combined average!
I think that I will continue this thread, but this will be the changing point. Now that lean burn is a reality, it is time to see just what this ZX2 can do! I can't wait to see the results!

Update!
So I have a confession. There was no lean burn miles on this tank  life has been so hectic that I have been unable to even install it this week! I am going to get to it tonight, come hell or high water!
I was able to put down 50.74 mpg on this tank. My 3rd tank over 50 mpg!  I consider this one to be a baseline for the new year. I will be working from this point on up with a goal of a 60 mpg fill before the cold come back to NC!
For whom ever is reading this, I want you to know that these mpgs do not come easily. A lot of work has to be done off the road with modifications and on the road with strict attention to conditions, the ScanGauge, and the right foot. I am usually travelling between 40-45 mph, and sometimes slower than this. Living out in the country means lots of stop signs, so I have to plan accordingly by coasting over 0.5 a mile to each stop sign in order for my mpgs to balance out. This means I start coasting to a stop @ 40.5 mpg, stop, accelerate, and by the time my torque converter locks up @ 42 mph, the Trip Mpg is back to 40.5 mpg.
Hopefully with LB my average speed can increase along with my mpg

BD could you explain this a little more? I'm not understanding it.

Sure Russell! I edited the original post to make more sense. Let me know if it is!
What I meant is a half mile or more before a stop sign, I start engine on coasting in neutral. Coasting for this length of time gives me enough of a mpg boost to counteract the losses of having to get back up to speed. For the ZX2, it is 42 mph until I have lock up in top gear, and then my mpgs can go back to around 60 cruising.
This is the way I handle my routes that have stop signs every so often
