You can make a quick and dirty english wheel with two rubber-foot cart wheels of different sizes and a vice, if you need to in the future.
Open up the vice and remove the anti-skid faces [or drill/tap two holes in each face - comes in handy later] and your wheels will already have hangers on them, just bolt the hangers to the vice faces and tighten the contraption on your piece of metal, then begin rolling and tightening as necessary.

Picked up the shop manual today, which gives me the roadmap for wiring the trike. I could not read the color codes off of anything I could find on the web, or on the attachment Sendler was kind enough to send me.
I may have to change the rear wheel from a 17 inch to a 16 inch. The overall tire diameter can not exceed 28 inches and the rim is only 5 inches wide. I may just get the machine shop to use the existing wheel and an aluminum rim (15X5) to make a rear wheel that uses the same tire as the fronts which I also already have.
Another welding session next week.

Having a tire diameter/ circumference that is slightly larger than stock (24.7") is an easy way to gain some longer gearing. Going out to the full 28" is only a 13% increase in final gearing which is about the minimum increase that you will want. 15/ 36 sprockets give 16% longer gearing with the stock tire and I may go to a 35, which is the smallest that can fit, when my 36 wears out. The most efficient highway cruise rpm is under 6,000. With 15/ 36 I get 68mph at 6,000.

I'm just waiting for the weather to break a little. I need to extend the instrument cluster portion of the wiring harness so I can place the instrument cluster far enough forward to be able to see it clearly. I'll get something worth posting in the next week.

I find it interesting that many of the cars introduced around the 1905 time frame were in the 8 to 9 HP range. They just did not go very fast. The idea of making a light car that could travel at highway speeds up to 75 MPH and using getting high mileage is ironic given where the automobile industry started.
