Lots of those buses and trucks were adaptable to several chassis. "Run what you brung," as they say.

What I'm thinking is that one of those on a Prius subframe would have an already narrowed front track for the four-wheel fender skirts.

Question for Hoopie:

These headlights look to me to be about where the Prius suspension coil springs are. Do you think cutting the hood opening, cowl and rocker panels down more (and then painting it all black) would let the the body channel down maybe 4 inches?

I believe that would be very difficult to get the right look. Maybe 50' at 50 mph it would look okay but you have a lot to hide under a narrow hood.

I feel your pain, brother. I have the Firebrid body and fenders down as low as they will go, but I am still going to need lowering springs to get the look I want.

Thanks for entertaining the thought.

It's hard to see past the parallax in photos. What's the distance between the headlights in their stock location vs the center-to-center of the coil spring mounts. I'm sure it would require gusseting and stress bars but I'll bet the hood opening and the corners of the cowl could be trimmed, based on the sound engineering principle of 'if it's sticking out you can cut it off and patch it'.

What's that in the corners of the front fascia? Windshield washer bottle and...?

That's a part of the air cleaner. It's like and old oil bath but used water I think.

I'll run a tape measure on the truck tomorrow, I think it's very close to the same.

Bill I don't know how you're doing what you're doing. It's truly an engineering feat. I can't wait to see it finished. You are, Master Fabricator.

My suggestion: Art d'Eco

'41-'46 Chevy trucks are the "Art Deco" era trucks.
And you are mixing it with the epitome of an Eco car.
