So, I started p&g with eoc since the beginning of this tank.
So far, eoc is the 25% of the distance traveled.
If I continue like that,this tank will reach the 500miles mark instead of the usual 400miles. That means 53mpg instead 42mpg..
Still too far from your 70mpg..

These numbers are impressive! Does anyone here live near Edmonton Alberta? It would be cool if someone wanted to show me how good of milage they could get on my car. A 1993 Ford Festiva. My average was 55 and best was 62.7 back when i had a nicer commute and tried harder. I have to drive the busiest section of highway in the province at rush hour every day now and am down to 50-52. But it would be sweet to see what one of you guys could do with it!
I loaded an 1800 pound festiva to 4500 pounds with a big 12ft long camping trailer and 4 people last summer and drove coast to coast through Canada and did the loop though Alaska and the Yukon. 30,000km average was 30mpg but i drove it hard. Really hard...
Thats 2.5x original weight and 60% of original fuel milage- so there mpg/ton guy... lol

Hey, thanks for the recognition. I've been less active on here lately with a busy life.
The Fit has less mpg potential than the old Civic, despite very similar EPA ratings. It's best tank is 72 mpg vs the Civic's 92, on the same commute.
A couple years into driving the Fit I moved, and my new commute provides less chance for spectacular mpg. It's shorter so the overall fuel usage is better so that's a win. I'm also carrying more people around much more of the time. I have a hitch and tow sometimes which has a BIG impact. Still, 40 mpg towing vs any truck = win.
I'm still doing my thing, but being content with 50's for mpg.

I've been trying pretty hard in the Mirage lately, but its just not getting to 70. I've had a few trips in the mid 60s, most are in the mid to high 50s.

I hear you. Without that spoiler mod I tested, 70 mpg is harder. But if I drive SLOWER it is AMAZING how much drag reduction I get!

35 MPG with two aboard = 70 man-miles per gallon. With so many vehicles on the road carrying only one person, you have to wonder how much fuel burn could be avoided just by having people double up. And of course you're probably getting significantly better than just 35 while carpooling, it was just a convenient number to throw out there.
Sorry, facepalm: if everyone doubled up we could cut fuel burn (among private vehicles at least) by half. Duh.
And 40MPG towing beats any truck I've ever encountered, including my own.

Soon I will start my run. It will take approx 6 hours.
I wanted to do corrugated board wheel skirts but some one has misplaced my duck tape. So i will probably not make it
Had a 70 km commute today, ended with 3.7 liters with the ac running.

Did not make it . Had chores in the house so left 2 hours late and could not go too slow. Consumption dropped to 3.9 liters, then rose to 4.3 and finally settled at 4.1l/100 km.
Need to do some aeromods and then retry.

I am at 9.6 gallons burned (of 11.9 capacity) and at 69.5 mpg. My prematurely failing Odyssey deepcycle battery has had me running the alternator all the time and hypermiling more aggressively than I wanted. Reinstalled trunk decklid spoiler (rushed fiberglass build this time)... see the other thread for that update.
