Was briefly at 70.0 tank average as I did my morning drive this A.M. ... climbing the final hill put me back to 69.9 ... I have the flat decklid spoiler back on, and it just seems to work as tested at El Mirage: I coast notably further, not radically, but significantly. If my deepcycle battery from Odyssey were not prematurely failing so I have to run the alternator all the time, I think I would be over 70 mpg right now. New battery from a different maker is on the way.

I have maybe 1.5 or 2.0 gallons left to burn and a 60-mile freeway trip to make for work today... moment of truth.

Still too far from your 70mpg..
Fill the tank yesterday after 487 miles,it took 35 liters
This translates to 53 mpg-us.
106 of these miles was in eoc (20%).

I really like this +10mpg jump but i have my concerns about clutch longevity..
I bump start buttery smooth most of the times but still,
having in mind that a clutch replacement will cost me 400£ makes me nervous.

Still far from your 70mpg

I finally aired up the new LRR tires on the Mirage. I'm hoping to see a solid 60+ in it from now on.

I'd also really like to revisit my alt delete which never really worked right and get it running. I think that should put me into the low 60s and hopefully even maybe mid 60s.

Keep trying!

This was in the 2014 Mirage press vehicle I got to try out:

(Thread: Review notes: I've got a 2014 Mirage 1.2L 3-cyl 5-speed for a week. Any questions? )

That was for an actual round trip of about 12 km on a warm engine in quiet sub/urban conditions.

And I also believe the Mirage's computer vastly under-reports mileage when you do a lot of engine-off coasting using the key -- needs a kill switch for better accuracy. Actual MPG was probably quite a bit better than indicated.

Airing up the tires seemed to really help out. The cars MFD showed a very nice 64 mpg this morning!

Well, I jist bought fuel and came in less than half an MPG off the 70mpg goal. Spoiker warps more in the heat, then flexes back to a more flat shape during the night. Fail! But more importantly I have had to run the alt all the time. My deep cycle battery from Odyssey (Enersys) has prematurely died 1.5 to 3.5 years ahead of description. $230.00 for the battery, my second of this type, third overall, and they are not even answering emails. Voltage drops to 10.xx volts ridiculously quickly, forcing the alternator to run hard all the time. So, of course I have purchased a new battery from another supplier (NorthStar) with the same technology--in fact NorthStar supplies Enersys. I also got 50% more power storage for 15% more cost.

When the new battery comes and I install it in a relocated spot in the trunk, I will make another run at a 70 mpg tank.

2nd best tank though, right? Still crazy good for what it's rated at. I'd have to pull a 120 MPG tank to match your % over EPA on that last tank - no way that's ever going to happen! Nice work!

Woohoo, I did it. I got a 70+ mpg trip out of the Mirage. I probably annoyed a few other drivers. But, I really tried to stick to lower traffic roads and lower speed roads on the way home tonight. This probably isn't a doable every day thing, but I did do it!

For reference, this was on my 14 mile commute home. Ambient temp was around 80F. I kept the windows up and only used the fan. I got stuck by a train and got to open the windows for a little while, yay. But this was pushing it pretty hard hypermiling wise.
