In Germany their CO2 emissions have been increasing.
All because of the anti CO2 mass hysteria infecting government.
They made electrical power too expensive, so people are turning to literally anything that avoids using electricity for home heating during the winter, alternatives such as natural gas piped in from Russia.
Electric vehicles, well they're not as economical as they were a few years ago before all the expensive alternatives hit the grid.
Germany is leading the example of how not to do it.

I have made huge changes. Most of the miles driven by me and my wife are done with electric now.
The vast majority of the global warm believers will never be able to say that.

That makes zero sense.

German anti-nuclear hysteria has led to them shutting down nukes, using more coal:
EXCLUSIVE: German Emissions Increase in 2016 Due to Nuclear Plant Closure — Environmental Progress

That makes sense.

Thought they believed in man made global warming.
Guess not.
The United States under the trump administration is working to keep old nuclear reactors online and should see the startup of the first new commercial nuclear power reactors in a generation.
And they made it clear that they think man driven climate change is a load of hog wash.
Over the past 2 years CO2 emissions have been declining and are projected to continue to decline through the second trump term.
How's that work?
Shutting down perfectly good nuclear power plants because you are ignorant and scared of them seems awful selfish.

It's possible for some trend to to manifest itself regardless of some other force acting against it. What I'm saying is that it may be that the rate of CO2 emissions is declining despite Trump, not because of him. I'm slow to attribute circumstances, good or bad, to any particular presidency, including Trump.

I'm all for keeping the existing nuke reactors so long as they are in sufficient working order and safe enough. I'd probably be for new reactors if it could be shown that it can deliver power at competitive prices over the service lifetime, and that there is a plan for managing the waste.

German nuclear-reactor "fear" is not as BONA FIDE as Japanese nuclear-reactor "fear"...or, Ukraine's "Chernobyl" fubar.

Little boy, fat man, fukushima, I can see why the Japanese don't like nuclear reactors.
Germany has a really good safety record.

There was a plan for recycling the waste then in 2004 I believe it was the program was defunded, then quitely restarted and has been back at work since 2016.
With no plan nuclear waste just piles up in temporary storage which is unbelievably dangerous.
Recycling the waste removes the 5 to 15% of waste isotopes that make the fuel unuseabe for commercial power generation and reuses the rest as nuclear fuel.
Some of these waste isotopes, maybe around 0.1% are very valuable to science and medicine.

I just peeked over at GOOGLE and they mentioned that warmer winters, reduced use of coal-fired power plants, and strong growth in renewable and hydro power were the driver for lower carbon emissions (Scientific American)

Looks like Germany isn't doing so hot compared to France who uses a lot of nuclear and has a very good nuclear recycling program.
