It will be a couple hundred years before population dwindles to say, half of current.

Based on nothing but speculation, I expect population to peak in 40 years.
If global warming happens there will be more usable land for food production. We could easily support more people. Not that I want it to happen but Sibrea and Canada, the largest land masses on the planet, go from poor or unusable farmland to good farmland. Look at the size of Sibrea, it's amazing to consider.

This is the same song that global warming/cooling/ozone hole/etc. advocates have been singing for 60 years, we're all going to die if we don't do X within ten years, and yet there is no statistically significant change in climate in general, and humanity is still alive and thriving, and very much not dead.

Why wouldn't you want that? Is it because Canada is turning into Leftist/Sharia paradise?

Have you looked into the one-time Empire of Tartaria?

Map of independent Tartary (in yellow) and Chinese Tartary (in violet), in 1806.
1806? They didn't tell me in grade school, either.

Almost $2 trillion is the estimate in 5 categories only, to alleviate, even the start of AGW effects around the planet. This is only the first estimate in limited areas, & can easily be seen to increase by multiples, as the future becomes the present & AGW effects become really complex. And again, this is only the beginning.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...climate-change

$400 milion has already been spent by Miami, & that was only to get salt water in the city back into the seas. With only the beginning of explorations of protections from rising seas, $120 billion is estimated for New Jersey & New York river gates, probably not including full protections around Long Island.

An Okay post, litesong. Good work.

Geodesic domes will save humankind. If we're not attracted by the improved lifestyle, we'll be driven by dire necessity.

The IEA believes 7 out of 10 new vehicles sold in 2030 will still be gas burners.
What science says we have to stop burning fossil fuels with in a decade?
I hope you don't mean the laser ipcc report.
Because if that's your conclusion you obviously didn't read any of it.

So there's nothing in the IPCC 2018 that stated that we had 450 Gigatonnes of Carbon left to emit in a budget to stay below plus 1.5C?

I remember everyone was going to get skin cancer if we didn't ban cfc.
But the thing is higher levels of UV were never detected at inhabited latitudes.
