How many inches of global warming did Florida end up getting?

Why do I find it so ironic when people use snow in Florida as an example that global warming isn't real? Oh, that's right, because a higher average global temperature creates climate change which makes it snow in Florida. But who cares. No one, obviously. All I know is that depending on a person's political party, they're either going to say that snowing in Florida is a bad thing or they'll say it's a good thing.

That says more about the efficacy of political parties than it does the weather.
So we have a nuclear power thread? Yesterday Angry Astronaut reported on a six-month round trip to Mars. Today he reports on the pushback:
The sooner industry migrates off-planet the better for everyone. A NERVA-like test would have to run for thousand of years to equal one Hiroshima blast. I say run the tests in a dormant salt mine.

My fridge died Saturday, and in my ignorance I didn't realize in our advanced modern economy, there are no places you can go where one can trade USD in exchange for a new fridge. I went to Lowes, Costco, Home Depot, and Best Buy, and they all had dozens of fridges, zero of which were for sale.
Here's where I tie in global warming. It happens to be that the fridge died at the perfect temperature to create a walkout cooler for all the food that used to be stored in said dead fridge (thanks for the awful compressor LG). Now I get to walk about my deck and hand select items I wish to eat instead of being confined to a tiny and cluttered box of food.
Apparently in this advanced state of humanity, one must plan fridge failure 2 months in advance. Probably has nothing to do with the fact that everything is made in China.

Every Goodwill has at least one used refrigerator.

Here Both bluebox and orange box places have in stock fridges, just not the cheap or on sale ones. Hell they will even sell you the floor sample. Ditto for RC WILLEY, best buy couple other places selling such. freebeard is on point, as usual. Getting it delivered NOW, "aye, there's the rub" but I have a dolly and a stretch F250 which explains the dent and paint trade on my fridge...
Has to be more parts to this than just explained but thats expected on a redpoint4 story
Hmmm outside storage... wonder what the local raccoon family would think of that

I wanted a side by side, but my wife wanted french doors. I hate door mullions which is why I dislike french doors, but she convinced me to get another one... which is why Goodwill would not have had what we wanted.

I've got enough trucks and dollys to start my own appliance moving company, so that's not the issue. I listed the places I visited, and all require online orders and will not sell floor models. Best Buy allows appliance pick up... at their Seattle warehouse.
Oh, and the one I ordered online from BestBuy and got a "payment successful" message on their webpage, they show no record whatsoever of that order. Even shopping online is severely broken.
The way to be successful in business is to solve a problem you've got better than anyone else. I'm thinking of opening a "Refrigerators Only" store where people that want to exchange USD for a fridge may do so. I'll be the only game in town; a complete monopoly.
The deck nearest the kitchen is 15ft off the ground, so no racoons. I've got the food in totes to keep the squirrels out.

Perhaps people got Jevon wrong, but the phenomenon that increasing efficiency does not result in decreased consumption remains.
I was thinking about this more today. If technology only allowed internal combustion engines to utilize 1% of the energy, I wouldn't simply buy 25x more gasoline when I go on trips, I'd buy an EV (find better alternatives).
Since technology allows us to use about 25% of the energy content, it ends up being a good transportation solution, which is why ICE vehicles have dominated for the past century.
If technology improved efficiency to the point that we can convert 90% of the energy into useful work, then it would completely obliterate the EV market. Not only would I be driving enormous ICE vehicles, I'd go off-grid and power my house with a fossil fueled generator. I'd buy a smart phone that runs on gasoline. I'd have a gasoline toothbrush...
Improving efficiency is what drives demand for a thing, because it makes alternatives uncompetitive.
There is no possible way to reduce fossil fuel consumption by efficiency improvements. The only way to reduce fossil fuel consumption is to improve the efficiency (value) of alternatives.

I used to get regular visits from a racoon family at an open second-story (dormer) window on the roof.
