Prolly not. She may be a fan of Megan Markle, I haven't watched that one.
I'm just a sucker for Bettie Page bangs.

It is true every word of it.
There is no if, if is for the ignorant and catastrophically optimistic.
Even nasa says there is an 11% chance per solar cycle of a Carrington event happening again.
You are almost always wrong.
NASA and noaa completely missed the last x class flare. Didn't send out any notices, didn't update the space weather map until it hit. Unless last Thursday was a federal holiday I'm unaware of.

Both are only about power and control. Neither offers a solution to the problem unless the solution is spending more money, expansion of government, restrictions on rights.
Both have surprising commonality. You aren't allowed to question the narrative in either case, it's considered settled science by its followers and sycophants, both are followed blindly like a religion.

1) an 11% chance every 11-years of what? ( 1% per year vs 99% nothing )
2) a 'Carrington Event' ?
3) a CME ?
4) Flares never leave the Sun, they fall back into it.
5) A CME can detach from a flare.
6) Traveling along a Parker Spiral.
7) Is that what you mean to say?

1) First thing, leave my text alone!
2) If you want to participate, discuss the topic at hand.
3) I parse things out for those who can't focus on more than one visual bite at a time.
4) This is Montessori method.
5) It's not about spelling, punctuation, or grammar.
6) Just content.
7) The 'capitalist' comment is attributed to National Geographic.
8) The context for the comment has to do with corporate decision-makers, not willing to invest in spare transformers, some, so specialized that, should you suddenly need one, you may be waiting a lot longer to get, than rate payers are willing to go without power.
9) A 'Carrington Event' will fry transformers, can damage satellites, and interrupt communications.
10) As long as spare-parts are on hand, power-outages will be at a minimum.
11) Aircraft can fly with inertial gyro-compass.
12) GPS usually comes back on by itself after magnetic storms pass.

1) Excuse me.
4) DDG/?q=Montessori+method+text+structure does not offer a clue. Citation?
5) I'm reminded of computer code line numbering
8-9) this is sufficient and less verbose

Now that's incoherent. He really loses it when caught in a lie.
Here is an article using small words not written or referenced by Ben Davison explaining the dangers and chances of another solar super storm.

phys.org via Slashdot:
science.slashdot.org/story: Lab Turns Hard-To-Process Plastic Waste Into Carbon-Capture Master (phys.org)
Quote:
What seems like a win-win for a pair of pressing environmental problems describes a Rice University lab's newly discovered chemical technique to turn waste plastic into an effective carbon dioxide (CO2) sorbent for industry. Rice chemist James Tour and co-lead authors Rice alumnus Wala Algozeeb, graduate student Paul Savas and postdoctoral researcher Zhe Yuan reported in the American Chemical Society journal ACS Nano that heating plastic waste in the presence of potassium acetate produced particles with nanometer-scale pores that trap carbon dioxide molecules. These particles can be used to remove CO2 from flue gas streams, they reported.
[snip]
The lab estimates the cost of carbon dioxide capture from a point source like post-combustion flue gas would be $21 a ton, far less expensive than the energy-intensive, amine-based process in common use to pull carbon dioxide from natural gas feeds, which costs $80-$160 a ton. Like amine-based materials, the sorbent can be reused. Heating it to about 75 degrees Celsius (167 degrees Fahrenheit) releases trapped carbon dioxide from the pores, regenerating about 90% of the material's binding sites. Because it cycles at 75 degrees Celsius, polyvinyl chloride vessels are sufficient to replace the expensive metal vessels that are normally required.
|
Four- to eight-fold decrease in cost of flu recovery.
