My first post in a while. Not because I've lost interested, but because my eco-mods have just been working fine, although I think I'll update my build thread with some info.

I've noticed that cars these days (compared to my 2001 Saturn) have less opportunity for modding. They already have wheel-to-wheel air dams, much smaller air intakes (a lot of "grills" are mostly solid when you look up close), and much closer fitting wheel wells. So yes, the ideas have been adopted, but I'm not sure they actually originated here.

Sometimes I wonder if there's actually a net fuel savings. I tend to drive just over the speed limit (which is mostly 80 km/h on the roads I drive). Most others seem content to drive the same speed as me, but there's always a handful that pass me on the way home, and it's almost always the biggest, baddest pick-up trucks and SUVs, roaring by. I wonder if they waste more fuel passing me than I save by driving sanely.

Petrol prices are some of the most expensive in Europe here, although not as bad as France. That alone is incentive to get EcoModding, although the sheer science geekiness of it is appealing.

Hey EC'ers just got your email today didn't know anything about it, shame nobody comes around anymore, I lived on this site all my ev stuff is still in storage from 2013 waiting on battery prices to come down, I figured as new tech batteries was released old tech battery prices would fall to affordable limits but their still the same as they were seven years ago.

It's sop sad to see so many EV parts dealers have gone, except EVwest and Evmotorwerks there nobody left, and also were (the US) supposed to be producing more surplus gas that were a top exporter but prices are still high! a few years ago it got down to $1.29 a Gal witch I thought I never seen before in my lifetime again but were producing more and still gas is hovering around $2.39 local.

I wish I knew what to do about my EV parts I so much want to get that car on the road maybe next year...

I'm so frustrated I can't raise my mpg in city driving. Highway I can avg 35-55 mpg for 15 minutes at a time, depending on traffic conditions, which direction & where I traverse Palisades Parkway. Tires at 45-50psi. 26.1 lifetime mpg avg after 93k. To be fair, I started driving it at 88k miles.

1. Maybe my efficiency will improve in summer?

2. Can I get a 2014 Camry to lean burn without any engine mods? Any cons to lean burn or can it damage the engine?

3. How did you score a volt for $2,300? I might be enticed to buy my 1st car at that price. Some bicycles cost more than that. Amazing find.

4. How significant is lighter wheels in boosting fuel economy & does it justify the cost?

5. Any eco modder Meetups in NYC? I often see old car meetups on Fridays at ceaser's bay in Brooklyn.

6. What percentage of the forum members joined for environmentally conscious reasons? I'm a huge environmentalist, & was led here after proudly posting my personal best chart with me hitting 60 mpg for a few minutes in a non-hybrid vehicle onto endless sphere or ev group on fb. Now I recommend ecomodder forums, after cleverly baiting discussions in groups to get others to seriously consider fuel efficiency.
