The Nissan Leaf EM57 motor is rated at 107 HP, but that's at a higher speed.
At 2,000 RPM, which is what tractors typically run at, it's about 70 HP, far more than the gas engine 40 HP.
Torque matters more than power on a tractor. No wonder some Mahindra license-built Jeeps relied on engines originally developed by IH (even the U.S.-spec Roxor does so) and, despite seeming quite underpowered at first, performed reasonably.

Not exactly sure yet.
I do have the gearbox from the Leaf, so I have the female connection that matches the motor driveshaft.

I also plan on having the clutch, as that's the only way to maintain the full independent PTO and and driving system.

The Leaf motor driveshaft is relatively short and the drive end bearing was never designed to hold any significant amount of weight.
At this point, I'm thinking of machining a stub shaft, supporting that with a bearing in a plate and then a hub with the flywheel.

The flywheel will have to be lightened or replaced with a lightweight version.

I'd be concerned about instantaneous shock loading of the drive train, especially the clutch.

That's a reasonable concern, even though those old tractors with those massive low-revving engines also had some huge low-end torque output. When it comes to clutches, it may not be rocket-science to find a more suitable one and do the adaptations it eventually requires.

I thought the best motor for a tractor conversion would be a forklift motor.
The old DC ones revved to around 2,600 rpm and had massive torque.

A leaf motor would be way cooler and massively over powered.

Depending on motor size, you can get to 6000 rpm such as my 11" kostov. Go comm banding and epoxy wire coating, some balancing and you get to 7500, however torque sucks much above 3000 unless you want to risk comm arcing aka zorch

How would the driveline get shocked?

A clutch has springs in it, which help absorb any shock.

Additionally, if I use a Nissan Leaf motor, I can limit the torque and RPM with software controls. It's not as though a Nissan Leaf car does burn-outs all the time. Everything is nicely controlled with power ramping up and down

I would think that a Leaf motor with a clutch would be the BEST way to NOT shock a driveline.
