Despite EPA mandated emissions control systems and E10 gasoline, I've somehow managed to get over 50% over EPA combined with a 4 liter Ford Mustang without any modifications to my emissions controls or adding anything to my fuel. In fact, I've only had one fill-up that was under the EPA highway estimate. I generally get better fuel economy commuting than on freeway trips. I must be doing something wrong.

As has already been pointed out, putting it in a vehicle subjects the result to tester bias - pro or con. Until its tested in an engine on a dynamameter, it remains a candidate for further consideration.

Try not to get so emotional about it - it calls into question your impartiality.
Emotion? Care to point it out?

So you're going to pull your engine, put it on a dyno and test this. Great! Let us know what you find out. Btw, I never said it wouldn't work.

Just out of curiosity, how much does acetone cost per gallon?

Let's play with numbers. E10 gasoline is 10% ethanol, and (I believe) most cars lose about 2% gas mileage with E10 compared to E0 with the same octane rating. If we could remove the ethanol from E10 using zero energy, then we would end up with 90% as much fuel as we started with. The result would be 2% better mileage on the remaining fuel minus 10% for the 10% less fuel, or a net loss of 8%.

Homedepot lists acetone at $17 per gallon on their web site.

06 Canyon: The vacuum gauge plus wheel covers helped increase summer 2015 mileage to 38.5 MPG, while summer 2016 mileage was 38.6 MPG without the wheel covers. Drove 33,021 miles 2016-2018 at 35.00 MPG.

22 Maverick: Summer 2022 burned 62.74 gallons in 3145.1 miles for 50.1 MPG. Winter 2023-2024 - 2416.7 miles, 58.66 gallons for 41 MPG.

Here's what Wayne Gerdes had to say on cleanmpg.com -" ___As for Acetone, Bluefuzz, has it right. If Acetone worked (it doesn’t), the manufacturers would have a $15.00 plastic tank filled with the crap and a $30 metering injection pump to feed it into the fuel system vs. the multiple tens of $BILLIONS of dollars the manufacturers spend on new engine technology to achieve even a small increase in FE".

You two have way to much faith in your supposed "logic." Your doing a lot of rationalizing. Some people would call that mental masturbation.

Until you actually test an item under very controlled conditions, you don't really know what the relations might be.

Now, I don't really want to hear from either of you again on your unsupported opinions.

Milage update

New 2012 Nissan Frontier mileage starting to look better. Here is my mileage plot from fuelly.com

I'm not really doing anything noticeably different, so I got to think this curve is a combination of new engine break-in, computer adjusting to my driving, and me adjusting to the vehicle-computer.
