I am not an expert on car electronics but I would have to assume that if ECI runs on vapor, then I would logically use car's (if equipped) fuel injectors system to control vapor and build a system before that which enables to produce vapor and pass it to the fuel injector manifold(s) and finally to the cylinder... As engines has all kind of loopback systems build in (mass airflow, engine manifold air temperature, oxygen sensors etc.), and if someone is knowledgeable to access those and adjust them, then that could show how feasible it is to use vaporized fuel sources in ECI... Propane is one example that it is possible but like said, I am not expert on engine technologies....

haven't really searched info but if fuel vapors are added into naturally aspirated ECI engine intake manifold (like before intake air filter), would that alone improve fuel economy a bit?

Nitrous Oxide?

freebeard : don't know much about Nitrous Oxide (Nitrox) but I have a gut feeling that potential improvement on performance using the nitrox, comes from the added oxygen (NOx) with pressure into the ECI burning cycle...

I don't know either, just looking for the edge case for 'fuel vapor'.

I doubt the ROI would be there.

The last very posts show why I will do full testing before really setting down to engerneer a device.

We need to do a proof of concept.

Propane has too little BTUs.

Nitrous Oxide (Nitrox) requires LOST of gasoline to work. It is mainly a hot rod power system.

Injectors are made to handle gasoline under pressure and to produce a fine spray.

Vapor will be a gaseous state and cannot be fed though fuel lines and injectors.

Most likely we will either add our own control system, we will not need a feed back loop, as we may not need to fine tune the fuel ratios.

Makes me wonder to which extent some injector designs meant to operate with CNG (always injected in vapour-phase) could be useful with gasoline vapour.

1lb of propane = about 20,000 btu
1lb of gasoline = about 20,000 btu

Tell us again how propane doesn't have enough BTUs?
I think you are just just affraid of testing it.
