Episode 2739 at 14:29

I think he makes a good point, and then pursues his topic. There is a fine line between hyperbole and bluff. Being able to walk that line and know which side you're on is a skill worth having. I'd put that on a list of persuasion skills.

Then he mentions them working all weekend. As I left the medical clinic on Friday, the receptionist said "Have a nice weekend." and I replied "It's all weekend for me". She said "Ouchie" and I felt bad for that.

30:09 He starts to backpedal on Perplexity.

36:57 This is the story of the decade: Six autists unravel the whole 'ball of worms' in one weekend.

Most people never heard of USAID? It's history goes back to before WWII, and they were all over Vietnam, where I first heard of them.

That's what catches people who don't know me off-guard. I calmly declare what my expectations are, and what the consequences will be, good or bad, and then execute without any further discussion. No trash talking, no walking back, no surrender to intimidation...

This brings up the highest stakes game there is- hostage negotiation. The correct posture is to say "my first, best, and final offer is you get to live". There is nothing else to discuss.

I'm sure I've heard of it, but nobody can keep track of the hundreds of departments. If we eliminated 75% of federal spending (minus department of war), we'd be just fine (Musk cut 80% of Twitter when people mocked me that 50% could be cut no problem).

Among Musk's best attributes is his method of reducing too much. You don't know what is necessary until you've eliminated too much. Our human nature is to avoid cutting too much, because our bias is to avoid setback and loss. The thing is, adding back a known thing is simple, so cutting too much is a low-risk task that feels high-risk given our DNA.

Musk found free money through his genetic quirks that enable him to act differently than most. We should exploit those quirks that have proven profitable.

Musk is displaying typical autistic symptoms, because I understand he is one. If you ever dealth with severe austistics, they are freaking incredible super genius class when they are focused, but that is sadly only less than 1% of the time if that much. Think his
Functionality is higher, but you still get the associated irrational tantrums from frustration, self induced.

What do I know, I was just a handicap bus driver with a BS squared.

I suspect I have undiagnosed autism, though the fact that it's a spectrum makes a diagnosis less straight-forward and more ambiguous as to what to do about it.

I feel that I get Elon a little better than the surface level that others do because my personality is similar, but obviously less genius, and perhaps more careful communication style. My more careful communication could simply be the result of having no position of authority. If I had authority, I'd have little patience for stupid being insisted upon, or the hurt feelings of people denied the stupid option.

Dogbert is my spirit animal.

Episode 2740 -- I feel empathetic with Scott Adams. He described his 'ADHD' symptoms and it sounds a lot like me. I can't walk through a doorway without forgetting something, and I use chanting to get me through the day. (And writing notes to myself on the heel of my left hand)

Describes me too, and I already discovered the hacks to help me with everyday things like driving somewhere. My number is 3. Wallet, keys, phone. I could include my EDC in the number, but I get a sense of nakedness when I don't have it, so I don't have a problem remembering it. As a result, I never forget those things, and I haven't locked keys inside a car in about 25 years or more because it's 2nd nature to get a visual of the keys prior to closing the door.

I can't find anything that isn't in its place. Just spent 30min looking for my wireless keyboard that was on the floor right next to my computer chair, instead of in its place in a drawer. I've got some cold that's kicking my butt, so adding clouds to my already cluttered mind doesn't help.

Here's another one: I can't get a dopamine hit from figuring out if I paid the car insurance yet.

Scott is now convinced 100% that the 2020 election was stolen. Which implies President Trump won three times.

Which sent me down a rabbit hole and at the bottom I found attempts to repeal the 22nd Amendment.
Quote:
The first efforts in Congress to repeal the 22nd Amendment were undertaken in 1956, five years after the amendment's ratification. Over the next 50 years, 54 joint resolutions seeking to repeal the two-term presidential election limit were introduced...Repeal has also been supported by Representatives Barney Frank and David Dreier, and Senators Mitch McConnell[35] and Harry Reid.[36]

In January 2025, Representative Andy Ogles introduced a joint resolution proposing that the 22nd Amendment be altered to allow a president to serve a third term, provided that their first two are non-consecutive. The language of the bill was intended specifically to allow for the incumbent President Donald Trump to serve a third term, as he is the only living president to serve non consecutive terms.
The 18th Amendment was repealed by the 21st, why not the 22nd (and 19th)? Makes more sense than planting a flag on Gaza.
