I'll have to look into that strategy further. Anything like SA embrace and amplify?

Actually yes. SA uses it for subversion.

Bill Gates & Paul Allen Change the Name of 86-DOS or QDOS to MS-DOS
Dec 15, 2024However, the initial negotiations for the use of CP/M broke down—Digital Research wished to sell CP/M on a royalty basis, while IBM sought a single license, and to change the name to 'PC DOS'. DR founder Gary Kildall refused, and IBM withdrew. "IBM again approached Bill Gates. Gates

It all starts in 1981 teenagers Gates and Allen buy Seattle Computer Products OS. The only thing that stopped them was Free and Open Source software, because there was no single point of failure to attack. (Apple's OSX is built on Darwin, that they gave back to open source).

Remember Netscape?

The History of the Browser Wars: When Netscape Met Microsoft
It said "Netscape: 72, Microsoft: 18," the current split of the browser market. But that changed. And fast. The release of Internet Explorer 4 for free, and Microsoft's aggressive push to distribute it, started to turn things in their favor. Netscape continued to innovate, but they knew they couldn't keep up.

Have to do a little work this morning, so I'm listening to SA.
He pointed out how he was mocked for saying "Republicans will be hunted if Biden wins" in the 2020 election. I was more skeptical of that claim then, but then we saw folks get shot/shot at, and a weaponized legal apparatus.
He makes the same argument I do about leaning towards liberty; that if harming liberty isn't clearly better or necessary, then preserve it. He uses the labeling laws on food and medicine as an example where informing people is clearly better than not informing them, and therefore companies are not at liberty to not provide that info.

I'd like to know his undisclosed method for identifying trolls.
I was reframing a picture, and didn't notice it wasn't on 1.5x until halfway through.

When I accidentally play at 1x speed, I briefly wonder if someone drugged me and reality has slowed down. 1.25 feels normal to me.

Elon Musk: "Cybertruck is the worst possible choice for a car bomb, as it's stainless steel armor will contain the blast better than any other commercial vehicle."
In the 1990s I was in the parking lot at the Country Fair and as I walked past a guy and his family were getting out of their car. The parking staff were on horseback, and he asked one of them if his car would be safe. He as told "No, we will steal it and replace it with an exact duplicate." He nodded and turn to walk away, got two steps and stopped for a second and then started walking again.
Last month someone on X said the Elon Musk stole the Statue of Liberty. Someone else said "No way" and Elon Musk said "It's true but I replaced it before anyone noticed."

Episode 2709?t=597
I thought this up all by myself: DEI = Don't Employ Incels.
Was I first?

First time I've heard that interpretation. The one that seems to have the most sticking power is Didn't Earn It.
I don't use incel in a derogatory way toward actual incels for the same reason I don't use 'retarded' in a derogatory way toward mentally handicapped people; that it's involuntary. However, it's probably useful to notice the different trends in behavior from incels. The proper level of analysis is the individual though.
Tangent to the incel topic, my guess is 90% of school shootings would be avoided if once every 6 months, a girl commented that the weirdo had cool shoes, or a nice shirt, or even notice he got a hair cut or something. The comment just has to acknowledge the guy exists in a non-negative way. "you got a haircut" isn't a positive comment, only an acknowledgement that someone noticed a change, which is an acknowledgement of existence. The point is, it doesn't take much to make most guys feel like they're still part of a community instead an abomination.
Speaking of DIE, it's interesting that SA dismissed it initially, and didn't have any issue with it. He probably figured it was something relatively benign, like the sexual harassment "training" people who work for corporations are forced to participate in, as if it had never occurred to someone that not harassing was also an option. I make it a point to pinch a butt in my workplace after such training (I work from home).
Scott goes on to predict that the UK will become a Islamic state. Seems likely given that 'nothing' is not a sufficient guard against 'something'.
He reiterates the point that there are no rules in self-defense.
Apparently all of his works are being counterfeit and sold on Amazon.

I don't consider it as an insult but I was kicked out of the gene pool in the 1980s. The I is for involuntary, which is next over from immutable. OTOH celibacy means extinction.
The school shootings seem to mostly to be drugged-up cross-dressing females. Who leave manifestos.
Will it be an Islamic state or a second Pakistani state with nukes? They seem to be the ones with a free pass as well as protection from irate parents.

We have twice as many women in our ancestry as men. InCel is a thing baked into humanity it seems.
I take a SA mentality with the matter, regarding it more as a decision than something that simply occurs to an individual. I mean, Stephen Hawking had game, and he drooled on himself.

Statistically, they are young men who felt rejected by the vain culture of our youth.
I do wonder about the challenge of dealing with newfound aggression fueled by a sudden blast of testosterone. Boys navigate that starting from a helpless state, and become socialized, but it must be awkward to forego that process.

Probably like Saudi Arabia? They like wealth enough to do what it takes to maintain it, but they also export all of the 9/11 hijackers, so it's a mixed bag.
