My panels are lagged into the rafters. I doubt code would allow panels to just be fixed to the sheeting. Heck, code wouldn't allow my parents to put panels on a manufactured home using any method.

Yes generally you can not connect mobile home solar to the power grid.
Unless the panels are ground mounted and have their own service drop.

It's not the quality of power they are concerned with, but the integrity of the roof to hold more weight than it was designed for.
If I'm not mistaken, stick houses can re-roof over 1 layer of existing shingles, but not so on a mobile home. Old has to be torn off to keep weight down.
EDIT: It might not be the weight perse, but the lifting forces solar panels can generate that load the roof in a way they weren't designed.

County of Kern and so far Washoe have a 3 layer max on raftered roof with plywood sheeting. The limit on my manufactured home was to not exceed 60lb per sqft with 2 ft depth medium density snow. The inspector allowed a second layer of 50 year shingles.
I suspect most people bootleg their re-roof. My current house has a metal roof without associated permits so unless the structure fails..........

A mobile home and a mobile homes electrical connection are both ill suited to a solar install.

How so? My parent's ground mount is wired directly into the panel that serves their home.
The top breaker is the solar connection.
