... you have this itch to drive on the freeway in the middle of the night to rack up MPG points ... but that would be wasting gas, .

Nothing is worse than having an itch you can never scratch!

Ha Ha! I almost succumbed to that temptation during the Ultimate Ecomodder Fuel Economy Challenge. But I didn't.

...You save up your money for an xfi cam and foam/composite to aero mod your car

...you wonder how many psi you lost in your tires from the summer to winter transition

...you use gorilla tape instead of duct tape because it's more durable in the elements

...when you keep a hardcopy of your fuel log in the glove box with the reciepts and a pen

...you count the amount of red lights to pick the most efficient path

...you treat all stop signs as yield signs

...you refuse to use drive thru's

...you agree with those that hope gas prices go back up

...you move your car in the driveway manually to preserve the tank data

...If you get passed by semi's...

You know you're an Ecomodder if ....

You see this on the highway ...

A tractor trailer with the following;

-Smooth wheel covers on the truck's rear tandem
-Smooth wheel covers on the trailer tandem
-Front wheel skirts (basically eliminating all the gap between the tire and the fiberglass front cap.)
-Wheel skirts on the truck rear tandem
-Wheels skirts on the trailer tandem, which also included an enclosed fender, haven't seen those to often.
-Single wheel set up on the truck tandem
-Choroplast sheeting riveted to the trailer with small bracing along the whole side of the trailer. It just had a cut out for the handle to lift and lower the trailer stands.
-It had the stacks cut down below the level of the trailer high wind deflector
-The truck had a piece of stainless steel that acted as a front air dam with less then 3" of clearance from the floor.

-Oh and most importantly ... he was doing 60mph !!! I could swear it was one of you guys ... LOL

*** And you know why it was done, plus refused to speed up to catch up for a picture because it will harm your FE .... LOL

you hear people think when you ride your modified scooter.
This must be a disabled person or a pizza delivery boy on that scooter.

...you pay close attention to aerodynamics on every car you see...

Just today on campus, I saw a car drive by with a radiator block installed. It was a fairly small car (2 door) and the radiator block appeared to be made of flexible plastic. It was going a little too fast for me to read the model, however. I wonder if it belongs to a hypermiler...
