Yes, those are the few more supports I have to attach.

Turn the differential around so the yoke points backward and put a brass motorboat propeller on it.

attach some kind of switchable on/off coupler/clutch and spin a compressor while braking, to supply air suspension and a air horn. And why not some other pneumatic doodads DD

I don't have any comments to add on the process - love it, I can say that much. But it crosses my mind now that we've seen the Firebrid and this rig, that it's going to become more of a thing.

For someone considering another hybrid/old truck combination, I think I would recommend something more along the lines of a Camry Hybrid or Accord Hybrid. The Accord Hybrid could be a particularly good match for duty of this kind; its already set up to drag around a car weighing about 3900 pounds, which is considerably more than all but the largest models of Chevy Advanced Design trucks from the 40s. Substitute a truck's lousy aero for the avoided weight of the Accord and it would probably perform pretty well. And the Accord, unlike the Camry, is available as a plugin hybrid.

Just some thoughts.

I think the combination of the first gen Prius and the '46 Chevy truck is brilliant!
It does not need to pull long black stripes, nobody expects performance.
It has to look like a truck and move and sound non-trucklike.
The brass propeller and additional hybrid gear would just detract from what it is; a mix of pure Chevy truck and Toyota hybrid components.

Firewall brace

Mounted cab today and created firewall to firewall brace. The 46 metal is incredibly thick. I was able to use original holes the mount a piece of angle iron to the truck. Then I welded the bracing to the Prius firewall. The lower brace attaches to a solid bracket that Toyota used as a structural support. The upper brace attached to solid sheet metal near the top of the firewall. I believe this will be adequate support.

You have now leap-frogged me and my Firebrid project. I'll do my best to keep up...

I think it would be more of an Easter egg.

You are relying on the strength of the edge of a sheet metal box. May I suggest an internal gusset plate between the vertical angle iron (or C-channel) piece and the top of the frame rail?

So, you're seriously going to have air conditioning in there?

Of course I'll have A/C :)

A/C in a 46 I can't pass that up. as far as support, I think it's good. I'll know soon enough. I'm starting to concern myself with weight. Looking forward to running it across the scales.

Just stick with it. Looking forward to meeting up at a show so we can hear how stupid we are for breeding Hybrids with American classics.
