The center under the aux lights is open, about as wide as the license plate.

I just realized i missed recording a fillup.
My new position at work has me working evenings and nights. Meaning the headlights are up for half my driving now and the temp has dropped dramatically. Going to see how much affect it has on mpg,

I hate missing fillups! I can estimate them, since I have hard odometer numbers on when I started recording fuel usage. But it's a pain, especially if you miss two before you notice.

27 mpg on the last tank, I am switching to e10from now on because the gas station switched to a diesel size nozzle for the gun
Iexpect to loose 2-3 mpgs

How do you even have gas with no ethanol? It's not going to be a big difference anyhow if you're switching from the 6% oxygenate EPA mandate to a 10% ethanol blend.

For reference I'm running 30% ethanol in this tank as an experiment, I don't notice the gas needle moving more than usual, but the exhaust has way less unburned hydrocarbon smell (yay brain cells/kidney) and the engine runs extremely smooth (as expected).

In low blends up to E10 there is little to no mileage decrease.

I was running "snowmobile" fuel, pump said does not contain ethonol. The other pumps say, may contain up to 10% ethonol. My experiance in switching to the snowmobile fuel resulted in a 2mpg gain in fe, thus my previous statement.

Considering that a 10% ethanol content would lead to a total 3% lower energy content than the same volume of pure gas, it's pretty much negligible, but older carburettor-fed engines with lower compression are more sensible to the ethanol effect in mileage even at lower amounts.

Been a long time since I last filled, I have only used half a tank, had a couple more old car issues lately. Brake light switch went out lately, kept the brake lights on constantly. The e fan fuse melted, holder to, need to trace the wires to see if I have a short. In the short trips back and forth to work (with the lights on) the alternator cannot keep the battery charged. (Toyota spaced a 40amp) and the heater doesn't work(blows cold air). So I have been driving my pickup...
The car is fuel injected(1st gen) the computer is not a feedback response type. My 97 truck does not care what fuel it gets, while the car is affected noticeably -2-3 mpg difference.

Based on some research I have done (on this site and others) I am going to give some air tabs a try, to see if I can reduce the big vortices on the back window. Also going to experiment with a 30° rear wing coupled with a mid wing(think xr4). This will probably happen in the spring when the daytime temp is above 40°f and lows in the 20°f range.
