Kill switch!

I pretty much followed Daox's example exactly except I decided to mount my kill switch to the dash next to the cruise control because there are extra blank pieces.

http://ecomodder.com/forum/452430-post91.html

1) remove steering wheel under cover. There are 3 screws on the bottom, then gently pop the cover off.

Then put you hand in that big hole on the left and pop out the blank cover piece.

3) for the kill switch I'm using a brake switch that I used for my old del Sol and Sti projects. I drilled a hole and poked it through.

4) Finished! Nice and clean, just how I like it

Noo!

Put it on the shifter, where your hand already IS!

After always having my kill switches on the shifter, I put the Limo's EV mode switch on the dash (same spot as yours). Had I known I would also be able to effectively use it as a kill switch (ie. use it frequently), I wouldn't have put it there.

Lol, I haven't tested mine out yet to see if it works. I just HATE how it looks, it looks like such an after thought "Oh crap, we forgot to add cruise control, go grab a random one from the parts bin and slap it on!"

"But sir, the color doesn't match."

" I DONT CARE!"

Yeah, I know it would be more convenient to put the kill switch on the shifter but I like to keep my mods looking unobtrusive. I could have bought Daox's kill switch/shift knob...but I was too impatient

Having to move your hand to shut down is hard.

It's on my to-do list!

Having to move my hand to engine kill keeps me "engaged" while driving in Los Angeles traffic

"Sir...coasting opportunity approaching..."

"Ready your stations..manning LE KILL SWITCH."

"Wait for it...Wait for it.....aaaaand...NOW!"

Someday, I want to see someone install a kill switch on the back of their steering wheel. You only ever need to tell anyone about it if they drive.
