Use Honda transmission fluid. It's not expensive and the car doesn't use very much.

Holy cats your PCV valve looked like something out of a textbook diagnosis example.

PO spent some time under the hood maybe, but looks like he didn't loosen many bolts.

And yeah, the gaps on those plugs look enormous.

I used BG SyncroShift II myself. I couldn't find anybody on the net that had anything bad to say about it, so figured I'd try it out. Don't know what fluid was in the trans (assuming Honda). It came out fairly clear. The difference was subtle at best in the feel of the shifting, but I think it feels a hair better (but I found somebody local who carried it for about the same price as Honda online, so figured it was worth a shot. Either one would probably work, just nice to have options.

I need new plugs for my Insight. How do you specify which indexed version you want on that site?

So, I have this wonderfully worn footwell. I think the best fix would be to get a nice floor mat to lay down and cover it up. I checked the WeatherTech site because they make beautiful works of art for floor mats. Alas, they do not make mats for the 1st gen Insight (for shame, I know). So, I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Mine looks about the same! Hmmm, my guitarist's brother runs a pro interior shop and is supposedly wicked at custom interior and stiching. Wonder what kind of cost it would be for custom floormats... I'll ask!

My stock mats are worn, but were always used, so the carpet underneath looks great. Maybe you can find a good condition stock mat?

One of the managers at the carwash where I work gave me some floor mats and I just cut those to fit and burned the edges with a lighter. They aren't perfect but it looks better than the holes in my car's carpet.

I'm hoping for a mat that will follow the dead pedal contour so it doesn't get salt and rocks in that huge hole in the carpet.
