Don't forget the first year "cost" might actually be lower if you sell your WRX to buy the Civic.

updates: window tint and rear diffuser

Some updates for the sti I got my windows tinted, 35 % ceramic. This will help keep the air condition usage down to a minimum, however, since the tint cost so much money, it is pointless to label it as a fuel saving measure

I finally had a chance to work on the rear diffuser to date. Since I knew I was going to screw directly into the cotoplast with no backing, I decided to use a screw that has larger teeth. I found these screws made for wood, hopefully they will hold up. The old type of screws I used to use would eventually fall off by itself over time because the teeth do not bite as much

Nothing fancy here just measure and screw measure, and screw

That looks sweet!!!

I hope if the diffuser works, you'll paint it black, right?

I wonder what your STI friends will think. The rear diffuser is an appropriate (read: acceptable) aero mod for "racing".

Thanks! Yeah, I'll paint it black eventually.

Lol, because of ecomodding, I don't have any other sti friends. They just don't "get" it.

wrx owners have an unwritten code to always give a "thumbs up" to other wrx cars on the road. I typically will get the initial "thumb up" until they see the grill block...then I see them mouth "wtf did he do to his car?"

But maybe now I'll get less "wtf" look from other random sti drivers on the street.

Diffuser works beautifully, I can already tell that the car coasts noticeably longer.

When you smoke them at the track, then they can stop whining about how you "messed up" the car.

Don't forget the first year "cost" of the STI didn't include the cost of the STI itself.
