Yeah, I like spritely EVs, but battery mass makes range. That'll yield a smoother ride than all other compact cars and appeal to the soccer moms that are accustomed to driving tanks around.
One of those I know finally abandoned her Suburban for a Prius V. She now has religion about fuel economy, and remarked that the ride isn't too bad either!

You guys really think 3,600 is a heavy car? All of the weight is below the axle height! That car will corner flat like nothing short of an active suspension car. And 7.0 seconds 0-60 mph will beat most SUV's and commuter cars.

What was it's 0-60 time?
.
'72 Camaro Z28 was 7.4 seconds. Gets beat by the Bolt. Which goes on to commute at 140 MPGe.

GM will sell the Bolt in Europe under its Opel brand as the Ampera-e.
So the name Ampera reappears, as it was used before for the Opel version of the first gen Chevy Volt.
The Ampera-e will be more in line with European preferences, the strictly 4-seater sedan lay-out of the Volt/first Ampera hurt sales over here.
It will have the same specs as the Bolt and its price is said to be 'attainable'.
