Oh, ok. Still elhigh makes a great point. Why not attach it to the wheel vs the hub cap? If you use the hub cap why not remove some of the unused spokes?

The hoop spring that holds the hubcap on was not strong enough to hold my covers on, which were virtually identical to yours. I put two springs on, but eventually those failed, as well.

This car looks great with the mirror delete. You've inspired me, I'm doing it too. It looks easy on youtube-- think I'll use some peelable caulk so it's reversible.

Hey Cobb, was the Enginer kit any good? I've heard mixed things.

Well, aftermarket wheel covers don't fit the Prius' wheels--they're a proprietary design, and the wheels are black-painted aluminum 10-spoke wheels. I don't want to mess them up by drilling (sometimes I leave the covers off, when I'm only using the car in town for a stretch, because I like the way they look), and I think it's a more elegant and simple solution to attach the pans to the existing wheel covers. Cutting out the centers would, I think, allow too much flex and increase the possibility of losing one on a bump or pothole. Nearly 8,000 miles on this setup, and no loosening of the covers as yet.

Ah. Yes, that makes sense.

The Enginer kit is made from the part of China where things fail rather quickly. Some German company bought them up and has excluded the US from their business plans.

Very cool Vman, I appreciate your clean mods and that you're having fun with it. The car looks surprisingly cool and fluid.

As for Cobb, could you please lighten up a bit? You are being critical and sucking the fun out of this, as if it's not up to your standards, you probably didn't notice over the months of posting but read the whole thread and that's the vibe you put off. Friends? Like you, I just had to say something, lest ecomodder descend into the realm of drudgery.

Any chance we'll get ABA testing on the pan covers?
