867 miles to low fuel light on chevron pump diesel.
Tank has about 600 miles of highway (good bit on Texas back roads at 70, rest at 76-77) 2 severe traffic jams, and a few hundred miles of urban driving.
My air filter minder just bottomed out not sure how much that affects tdi mileage (perhaps some, don't know).
I'm loving the car much much more than before.

I'm sure it does affect mileage, at least blow off the filter w/ some compressed air! That's what I would do at least for now.

Dremd, Do the ventectomy on your TDI. It allows quicker, more accurate fill-ups and gives you about two gallons more fuel capacity. It takes about a minute to do and there are no drawbacks to doing is mod on a diesel. (tip- put a clean rag in the fill neck first)
I have serious six-speed envy now. It looks like it was well worth the trouble.

You probably could have gone over 1,000 miles on that tank. With the ventectomy our cars should hold over 16 gallons to empty. I get a little nervous when it gets at low and would never want to run it dry to find out.
Sound like it's time for a belly pan. I seem to be getting about 15-20% gain in mpg at highway speeds with mine. I will post photos in "aerodynamics" soon.
