All my problems are first world problems!

...

Do 70 mpg segments qualify? Round trips? I haven't tried any hardcore P&G with the Miata...

Nope, that's the first i've heard of it. Straight, flat, desolate roads are hard to come by in Georgia, and I would like to stay out of jail, so I just take it to the dragstrip. $20 and open just about every friday, plus I get to race against other people, not that I win often... I have never beat someone to the finish AND been faster than them. That RSX was the first person I beat to the finish. Everyone drives/rides something faster.

Yeah I get around 30 MPG for in town driving, so its not that efficient. I have heard that manuals can be a conversation starter, but there WILL be people who don't understand and complain.

21 in town is about what my Saturn gets... I spend a lot of time flat footing it up hills, I figure the extra power could be nice, maybe spend some time in closed loop for once... honestly with as much recognition I get for driving manual in my city I’d almost hate to get an automatic now...

I did my best but only averaged 3.9 L/100 km for most of the trip (3 People in audi a3 1.6 tdi).

Then the wife did not like coasting down steeper hills in neutral, so into gear the car went with full ac. That was not appreciated either. So the trip ended up with 4.1l/100 km average.

Specs for the car are 3.7l/100km average on highway.

i've been trying really hard and even my 2010 Prius can only get 61-62 mpg around town on my tank average going 120 miles now.
I did have a friend who bought a prius come over and demand me to teach him how to drive his car yesterday. He said he thought his battery was bad since he was only getting 41 mpg. I took it from my house to main street and back ~10 miles (straight, mild hills, 45 mph) and managed to get the gauge to read 84 mpg (on an already warm car on a hot day). He wasn't happy though when I told him to roll the windows down and try not to use the AC so much, pulse and glide the car with neutral, quit stomping on the brakes, and never go over 45 mph.
He told me: "Nah man I can't drive like that."
Crazy to me the amount of people who will buy Pri' and then proceed to drive them to where the hybrid has no benefit to them over a civic or something.

I took my flat decklid spoiler and box cavity off a couple days ago. I was keeping 70.5 - 71.0 mpg without too much struggle, though more hypermiling than I have done the last two years. With the spoiler/box off? I struggle for 68.8 - 69.5 mpg. It is a little cooler, but it is still hot.

Yeah. I see the Priuses blasting around all the time, getting 40s, maybe 50... "70 MPG Club - Better than Hybrid" !!!!!!!!!

And then he probably posted to Priuschat, "Mysterious Drop in MPG":

"My Pri has been averaging 50-51 mpg no matter how I drive it and suddenly it only gets 41 mpg!1!! Bad 12v??? Is the EGR clogged?? Do I need an oil catch can????"

I updated the OP in this thread with "The List" of cars I know that have done the 70 MPG "FTA" ("Full Tank Average"). My thanks to anyone who knows EM cars missing from the list. Will add an "SRA" ("Single Run Average") list when/if much of one develops. The level of prestige awarded is self-evident.
