OK, today i got a chance to have a look at a JDM CIVIC Ferio Vi (EK3). EGR is contacted to purge selonide which is mounted on the firewall. From Purge selonide a pipe is connected to IM and another pipe goes to a big black cylinder mounted a low on the firewall which i believe is canister container. i think i'll catch up with the guy and take a few pics.

As for the intake manifold it looks to be right. egr wiring should be shown in the wiring diagram pdf. You need to know which ecu you are using to tell how the stuff all goes together. I would guess you are using the P2J-003? If you aren't using the correct ecu I don't know how it could work properly or how to wire it.

Wow so much has gone on wit this thread in the last month. 88HF, thanks for the uploads. I was able to build a custom harness from a chopped 98 Civic EX auto engine/trans harness. I still have two wires and one extra sensor that I don''t know where they go to. I'll use the info that you posted, and if i can fix it, I will do a write up on the harness. Keep in mind though, I have the manual ecu and i am converting my HF to obd2.

Civic-Man,

If you have a cvt transmission, you need to get the p2j-j62 or j61 ecu. The manual will not operate cvt and you will otherwise need to do an auto/cvt to manual transmission conversion. If you do have to pj2-003 ecus on hand, sell them on ebay or something and make some money off of them. They are extremely rare. Or be generous and swap with someone (plus cash) for the cvt ecu.

I'm converting my crx to obd2 also. Of course it isn't really obd2 like we have here in the us... its just wired similarly to the us 96-00 civic. I don't know that you can pull codes through an obd2 port with the p2j. Anyone know for sure?

No, wrong

"30km/l mileage (for constant 60kmh speed)" from the page you sent me to, which is familiar for some reason...? Maybe because its where I got the 70mpg figure since thats what 30km/l is.

So I've been at the pullapart everyday for almost a week and I have plenty of parts to make most of the conversion happen... all kinds of extra sensors, wires, hoses, and connectors just in case. What I'm trying to figure out now is if all 96-00 civic dx/ex/si models have the same axles? Since I am using da hubs I may just order those calipers and rotors online, but it might be cheaper for me to pick up the axles, calipers, and rotors all from the same vehicle at the pullapart. Wondering if anyone knows for sure if any 96-2000 will work or if I have to be more selective. Most of the cars are difficult to identify by trim level.

88HF,

There is a scanner wire on the ECU for a scan tool (C8 for obd2a). I don't know if the JDM scan codes are the same as the USDm or UKDM codes. You could always just use the cel trick for obd2 cars to flash the codes if that is the case.

I just finished tidying up the wires and converted the harness from rhd to lhd. Too bad my rex is my dd. i'm going on faith that I have wired it right. Let me know if there is a major difference between the vacuum hoses and the ones going to the box on the firewall (i forget what it is called right now.)

I don't know about the axles because my hf is still stock and I am going to reuse the HF trans.
