Thanks 88crx HF

thank you for replying. i am located in Islamabad, Pakistan. Things here related to autos are still very primitive. NO he is not doing any reprogramming or modification to ECU, he is just playing around with wires, joining this wire with that. he havent used any scanner to really know the problem. he just count the CEL blinking. But he is still considered as the best one here and i think is the only one who really know anything about 3 stage both CVT and MT. I'll be getting my own scanner in two weeks time. on is CARMD and the other is OBD2 All-In-One Scan Tool w/ USB. Plz do comment on these two items as i still have a days or so to final my purchase.
Lastly when i was banging my head from forum to forum, i saw your thread and thats when i really made up my mind to put in 3 stage engine. very nice thread and an excellent contribution by you. many thank for that too. One thing i must share, honda specifications here are very different from rest of the world. like my old engine block said "PK6V". it was a D16Y"6", 1.6L vti 1998. plz do comment. many thanks again.

usb scanner might require a laptop in car or computer nearby, I would go for a scanguage II personally... but it is a bit more expensive. Counting the flashes is just as good to diagnose. You should be able to find a list of the codes online. It is probably a sensor or miswired.

No pics, the car looks like a wreck currently. Waiting on a client to pay up.

I like your car discovery, reminds me of my 88 integra with pop up lights. That car was alot of fun. Miss it. Hows it running for ya?

Much of the following information regarding the d15z7 engine is borrowed. WongKN, KatMan, CauseForAlarm all deserve alot of respect for the info they have provided about the z7 motor.

Also Big[V] from D-series.org steered me to the proper helms for the 3 stage VTEC motor.

First a pdf of collected info on the z7 motor:
D15Z7 INFO PDF

Next is a work in progress, pdf(s) cut from a spanish helms manual which includes the z7 both 96 and 99 versions:
96 D15Z7 FUEL AND EMISSIONS PDF

96 Z7 Wiring and Connectors

99 D15Z7 FUEL AND EMISSIONS PDF

99 Z7 Wiring and Connectors

88Hf and many others
my only request would be to help less experienced people by keeping thread more organized. in start it is easy to go through all post but later it would become just like many others, with lots of one line, bumps etc.
88Hf, is it possible to address this engine item by item? i know this would be too much but objective is to have some kinna flow and order of information that you will be putting here.
Still your contribution is priceless.
