You can't hear a whistle or sucking noise? Spray carb cleaner on all vac lines or inspect and replace vac lines are cheap. It shouldn't idle at 1500 unless it's a very cold start.

it idles at 1500 at cold start. still acting like theres a vacuum leak.
seems to stop idling high and lowers once my car stops. im thinking maybe a leak in the intake manifold sumwhere i cant find

basically my plans with this car changed all around last night. i do want to get it running and getting its milage up. save up and swap in a d16z6 engine and rebuild the d15z1 thats in there now and swap it into a different civic someday. and this could be going underway within the next 3 or 4 months

Mine idles high when cold. Only at a stop and warm does it idle at 500. Thats a plan. But if it runs i ld leave it alone.

Jack it up and make sure you don't have a dragging break.

iv never thought of that. def will check it out tho. once I get money figured out figure out if its the egr or not. I cant hear any vacuum leaks. but it doesn't seem like anything after the egr solenoid is recognizable. no vacuums or electrical. unplug things and cant find a vacuum or change in car running. I thought that if u unplug the egr valve the car starts idling really weird and cel comes on
