It's right there in the results:
Highest overall:
'05 Prius w/ 285.95 mpge - I believe this is a Prius converted to battery electric only power, as it is not listed as a hybrid.
Highest internal combustion:
1970* Centurion w/ 204.77
Highest gasoline:
'93 Civic w/ 98.7
Highest hybrid:
'00 Insight w/ 87.6
Frankly that hybrid result surprises me, as a lot of Insights on here have reported much better tanks than that. However, I understand the GGP route is a bit of a challenge and the Ecomodder garage tanks are from guys who are driving their routes on a regular basis, and know where the advantages can be had.

Only the Highest Overall, of those four winners above, was NOT an EcoModder car! We took all the other overall winner slots.

I honestly don't think anyone has pushed the limits of what the Insight is capable of with driver technique. Last year Mloveland broke 100mpg in a Civic VX. I will say as a disclaimer that this year the entire field went for 45mph laps which adjusted everyones mpg downward.
This is an example of the baseline for an Insight:
When I drove my non leanburn CVT Insight last year, i was doing laps averaging 41mph at a consistent 81 (+/-1) mpg. This is with the engine always on and in gear. My final score was 75.32 mpg with the hill climb included.

Some people based at CleanMPG.com did an Insight marathon years ago. I'll have to look up what they accomplished but it was well beyond what we did at the GGP. 1000 mile tank? 2000 mile tank maybe? However they had relatively no traffic on a public roads loop, with no need to drive any particular speed at all. I'm sure it can be found if you google for it.
