Apparently they did a complete overhaul of the site. This is a good thing.

When registering, be sure to enter "EcoModder" in the "school or company" space, and take a 30% discount off the $100 entry fee. Final answer, $70.

Event locations:
Watkins Glen International, in Watkins Glen, NY. On the track!
Also on local/state roads near Watkins Glen.

NEWS!

I'm now officially shopping for a Gen 1 Insight. Hopefully track-ready for the Green Grand Prix. Why? Someone backed into my Accord in the parking lot at work. Insurance check is on the way. Accord at 306,000 mi has been acquiring issues faster than I can fix them.

Assuming this goes as planned, I'll have the option of entering as modified or stock. Towards having a cohesive coordinated team - do we already have other Insight drivers? Stock or modified?

I entered Ron Burgundy this year, but then found out I had a department head out that I need to cover for the week of the event, so I had to bail this year.

If I'm still driving the Insight next year I'm planning on being there.

Will you be running the tank in the Exhibition: class
You. Have a "race only" rig NOT STREET LEGAL as per the EPA /CAEB:
1. No cat in down pipe as per your garage profile NOT CARB approved as wouldNOT pass visual smog inspection.if it cant pass that it is for off-road (race) use only
2. HAI/CAI is it off the shelf CARB # xxxx or as mying will be home made custom as "I" want it. If no sticker Exhibition class required because not street leagal. Can it pass an enhanced smog test(underload on a dino) with the hot air intake active or are the NOXX too high from an over heated communication temp too far above 2500°f

This is mostly for clarification of what they mean by "STREET LEGAL". Street leagal safty ,and or macanical, and or EPA
Hearis a better example Diesel_Dave
White Whale: 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 ST Quad Cab 2wd, short bed
Modds:
Removed diesel particulate filter (DPF)
Removed diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC)
Removed NOx adsorber
Removed EGR system
Removed intake throttle plate
Re-routed CCV vent to atmosphere
Smarty Jr tuner: fuel economy tune, most advanced timing
Ect ect

Would this 2000+ on 35usg be in the stock 6cylinder class or Exhibition not "STREET LEGAL" most of theas modds cary a $10,000 fine each from the EPA/CARB. For use "on road"

Theas Questions is for all ecomodders ,me inclided
If someone frome the GGP could pipe in that would be kool as well
I'm not trying to single out any one modder.
Thanks in advance

I'm assuming by street legal, they just mean it's registered/licensed.

Street Legal

I am sure Bob will contribute when he gets back from his trip. But I am 99% certain that as an SCCA event the term just refers to a vehicle which is legally driven on the street, ie is INSURED registered and licensed as I'm sure most of our vehicles are. The main thing the event cares about is that the car carries liability insurance. Mods if present are not their concern, as in the registration forms you self declare modified or stock. The tech inspection before the event is mostly for safety, they are not looking for catalytic converters and such. Anyone who has been to the event can back me up on this. It's mostly kick the tires and honk the horn type of inspection.

Very true.

The car must be registered for road use, with plates, and insured.

Inspection checks all exterior lights and tire pressure, and may check tire size. They might check wipers; I can't recall. They do allow a few pounds increase in tire pressure from driving up to the event. That is, I had entered as "Modified Production", so the limit was 50 psi. The inspector's gauge showed 52; he said that was fine because when cold the tires would have been several psi less - which is a true statement.

Of course if you enter as Stock Production, you can't show up with aero panels added all over your car. Stickers, decals, and even added instrumentation don't count as modifications, so far as I know.
