Oh man.
I am so excited I saw this. I haven't been on here in a looooong time. Life happens. Bought a house and had a kid among other things.
I definitely plan on being here this year with the Tank and meeting you folks.

svt98t,
Should you make it to the event, I look forward to meeting you, and of course, the "Tank"!

It's so good to see so many EcoModders lined up ready to go to this year's GGP.
I also plan to be there with my brother Steve.
You 100+ mpg guys are going to ruin my chances of winning anything - but driving at Watkins Glen is a blast - I'm in! As usual, my brother Steve will navigate.
MetroMPG noted that it's so early in the year, there's little or no time to do any new mods. That's true, but its true for all of us - unless someone has a nice garage.
I've usually managed to do one or two things in preparation for the GGP, in addition to correcting any issues that developed over the winter. This year? Likely two new front tires, and removal of an approx. 44 lb. deep cycle battery that's become essentially useless. More mods, if I can manage it...

However, those of us living in sunny Florida will be modding all spring!
I may get my belly pan on (or maybe just an air dam, I haven't decided yet), I'm thinking of adding the upper grill block, and I'll have to get the extenders for the air valves on.
I also want to throw the OEM mirrors on for a bit and send my modded side view mirrors to Daox to see what he can come up with.

I have a heated garage now, so life is good all year around.
I'm working fast to get this ready.
If I don't, you don't think it would look odd if I "raced" with my Lincoln Navigator? lol.
If I break 18 mpg, I win.
Back to the garage.

With all due appreciation and respect for everyone's contributions here -
Checking the Green Grand Prix web site ( Welcome To The Official Green Grand Prix Web Site), and following the link to "Registration", I see that page is headed "TOYOTA GREEN GRAND PRIX 2015" and states that the event date is April 17. That is in fact LAST YEAR's reg. form.
Yes, the GGP's main page header has been updated to show that the 2016 GGP will be on April 15. But the other information all seems to still be from last year.

registration discount for EM members
Update from Bob Gillespie:
Quote:
The Board of Directors decided on a 30% discount for any and all Ecomodder entries.
So that means registration would be $66 .
This year, a buffet dinner is again included for both driver and navigator at the scenic Glen Club, which overlooks the track.
Hope you can make it!
Bob

I get an average (maybe not ideal) lap split of 3:25.2 [ (96.2 + 6.4) / 30 ].
What is that white car in front?
