Back when I was in charge of a motor pool, we had civilian sedans and trucks for administrative function. A contrctor might want them for use in their factories.

Or maybe they are doing it as a poison pill against having to hire illegal 'immigrants'.

Don't know how you avoid hiring illegals. Their paperwork is better than the legals sometimes. And in the raid I witnessed, they were all back monday with impeccable papers.

The link is factually incorrect. Oregon's OReGO fee per mile system does not mandate GPS tracking. There are two options - with and without GPS. If you opt in to the GPS option you only pay for miles driven in Oregon on public roads. If you go for the non-GPS option you pay for every mile shown on the odometer.

OReGO options here: https://www.myorego.org/get-started/

It is also not mandatory - OReGO is optional.

(You could have easily found this out in less than 5 minutes by actually fact checking what was said in the link before spreading misinformation)

Refuges and asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants.

Arimoto 2Q2023 financials are out.
https://dd7pmep5szm19.cloudfront.net...-23-065538.htm

Highlights
  • $1.76 million - Total revenue
  • $3.56 million - Cost of goods sold
So the cost to make a FUV is double what Arcimoto is selling it for.

A few indicators for long term viability:
  • $1.3 million - Cash on hand
  • $13.2 million - 3Q losses

Read it again with a snarky, sarcastic tone.

I shan't debate the terms. The point is that defense contractors can't legally employ even legal non-citizens; SpaceX being an example.

Without actually seeing the bioilerplate of the specific related contract, no one can say for sure what the contract allows.

I worked places in aerospace that did have green card employees. Huge aircrash was one of them.

As defence contractors will deal with a sensitive matter, it's understandable that some objections to hiring someone whose loyalty to the country is "uncertain".

It's all political BS. People should have the right to hire anyone they want, for any reasons they want. The "fairness" is that people have the right to not work for someone for any reason. Everything else is arbitrary nonsense.

"Affirmative action" (legally mandated racism and sexism) is on life-support. It's got fewer days left than I do for sure. People are tired of institutional racism.
