That method of towing should work as long as the steering isn't locked. I can't imagine how dirty the toad would get if one did drive on a dirt road. Not bad with a dirt bike or a normal enclosed car but a loosely cabined car would be a disaster inside. I thought my hi-lo camper seal was sufficient until I drove 10 miles on a really dusty road. It was bad inside.
My motivation for even thinking about this is how cool cruising the Arcimoto around Yellowstone park would be. Tow a Basecamp up there with 15-20 mpg then break out the Arcimoto for day trips around the park. Whenever we go to Yellowstone we put more miles driving around the park then we do driving there and back.
Edit- that makes me think of a great business. Renting these things in busy national parks like Yellowstone, Glacier, and Yosemite. The traffic is already bad and parking sometimes a premium. The view and scenery would be much better and speeds are reasonably slower and safer. Yellowstone would have a bit of a problem breaking them as drivers take them off the edge of the road. Rangers have been enforcing no stopping in the road which has lead to bad drop offs on every shoulder as cars pull off for every animal photo op.

It would need a car cover that pulls over the nose and has velcro tabs to fully enclose it.
I think the part about the walking camper is because I listened to this podcast:
How Chicago jacked itself up in the 1860s / Boing Boing
They talk about people living in their houses as they are dragged down the street by horse-powered windlasses.

Wow, I wandered a bit off-topic. But then it's my thread. Enough stalling for time:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/arcimo...120000562.html
Quote:
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 4, 2016) - CES 2016 -- Arcimoto, makers of the world's most unique and affordable pure electric vehicles for everyday commuters, today announced their plans to showcase the all-new, Generation 8 SRK at CES 2016, which runs January 6-9 in Las Vegas. The breakthrough new SRK will also be on display the evening of January 5 at Pepcom Digital Experience! taking place at the Mirage Hotel.
|
Here it is from another source, making it more than rumor:
Arcimoto Showcases Ultra-Affordable, Generation 8 SRK Three-Wheeled Vehicle at CES 2016, Bringing Pure Electric Fun and Efficiency Within Reach of Everyday Urban Commuters Everywhere - Pennenergy
Anyone in Las Vegas take note: Mirage Hotel, Tuesday night.
So they are officially shipping product in the 4th quarter. More time for me to cover the base price.
The test drive program is supposed to start after CES.

I'm curious. Two others have Thanked you for the video, but in three different browsers I get a missing plug-in error. Even the browser that shipped with the OS.
I can't even copy the URL of the video to see where it's hosted.
Am I missing anything?
Edit: Is this it?
http://arstechnica.com/cars/2016/01/...we-did-at-ces/
Their video plays in Seamonkey with Flash off and ad-blockers. You know, the way it's supposed to work.
It involves a parking lot. "You're good to go" "Wha-ha-ha-ha-ha!"
Good close-ups of the mechanicals. I heard the word over-steer.
Still with no windshield wiper?

Possibly you have an outdated version of Flash. EG: Firefox will not load Flash widgets if it decides it needs to be updated for security reasons. Happened to me just last week.
EDIT: it's YouTube.

I'd gone back to Google and found that one as well: Arcimoto 3-wheeler Demo - CES 2016. It plays in Chrome; just not as well (144p?!?).
star_deceiver's link doesn't. Also note the URL doesn't appear above the frame.
Oh, it also plays in Seamonkey if you follow the link, where it won't on the EcoModder page.

Odd. He used a different tag to enclose the video link than I did, but it's the same URL.
