Dang Metro...no wonder you have 8000 posts, you do three posts at a time! I didn't point to any specific electric Geo as there are plenty of slow, electric Geos out there in the world.
Have fun reading the build thread, but don't expect much...it's hard to build an AWD Fiero hybrid in a matter of weeks AND document it well. Once the race is over, there will be a full website detailing the project in greater depth. At least, that's the plan.
QuickLTD - No worries, it's an easy mistake to make. I have raced in LeMons (5 times!) so I am getting pretty good at making things fast and cheap, but making them pretty is a new one for me. This project would be a lot further along if I didn't have to worry about making it look nice! The goal is to make it look like something that would roll out of the factory. By comparison, in the world of LeMons, the goal is to just make something that will roll.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
Bryce

QuickLTD: yeah, this was a find and a half.
I would have eventually stumbled across it on Jalopnik, but I only go there once in a while to catch up.
Bryce: I know all about driving a vehicle that needs a bit more, um, polishing. Looking forward to the reading.
EDIT: PS - true about the number of slow electric Metros. I can think of four off the top of my head.

Um...thanks for the input....???? Should I tell the story about how I swapped an engine in the same Neon twice in two weeks.
My Fieros have been very good to me through a lot of hard mileage. Sorry you've had bad luck.

The 84-87 Fieros shared a lot of parts with other FWD GMs. The '88 Fiero had Fiero-specific suspension and brakes (front and rear) so they had much better braking and handling than the earlier Fieros. That's why I chose to start with an '88 Fiero, it's the best platform to start from. The Formula is even better because it has the V6 (more power) and the sporty suspension (stiff springs, sway bars, etc.) but doesn't have all the added weight that comes with the options on the GT.
The '88 GT is still my favorite, I much prefer the styling of the GT. I have one of those also. It has about 210k miles on it. There's your Fiero history lesson for the day!
