I use hand tools for most everything. A 3' long 1/2" breaker bar, with a 3' long pipe over it and another 3' long breaker bar holding the tool in place (it was braced against the ground).
It sure felt like I was about to break something... and then pop, it came loose!

Hi Cacivic, what RPM do you see at 70mph with that CX tranny? I'm trying to find out what I will be running with the VX tranny I bought. Also, on your warm air intake, you drilled holes BEFORE the filter right?

A 150 ft/lbs torque wrench done this way could not get it to budge. A 300 ft/lbs electric torque wrench just failed to do it. I now have an 800 ft/lbs compressed air wrench ... gotta hook that bad boy up. Something's got to give...

I don't know what it turns at 70 mph because I am almost never there except for a momentary pulse under some conditions. Sorry. But for the WAI, my latest version has no drilling. I disconnected the stock tubing at the filter box and replaced it with dryer hose, routed to the exhaust manifold. Simple and effective. I get IAT readings in the 130s and 140s.

Ok lol what about 55? And Alright I think I'll be doing a WAI soon because the hottest mine is getting is 97F.

Yes!
Took all day and three trips to the big box stores, but I got it! But the secret recipe was 6' galvanized steel pipe on a breaker bar balanced on an extra jack stand I borrowed. The 800 ft/lbs impact could not remove it. Grrrr!

At 60mph I get to about 2050rpms. My WAI easily gives me not less than 30* over ambient. Sometimes 40 or 50. So give it a whirl.

I had to use the weight of the car to break a rear axle nut on a 280ZX. Crow bar between the lug studs and a 6 point socket, breaker bar and pipe. Had it on the lift and dropped it on the crow bar and breaker bar (opposed) setup before it broke loose I though for a couple of seconds it was going to carry the weight of the car without breaking loose.
regards
Mech

Torque wrenches? Please don't tell me you were using torque wrenches as breaker bars...
You'll probably want to get those calibrated if you did.

Awesome! You can move the world with a long enough lever! I figured I was somewhere around 600ft-lbs by the time she let go

Yup. Buddy next door's torque wrench is about 10% out of calibration, and practically insisted I use it. So I did. Didn't work. In the end I had my 155lbs body, practically hanging/sitting on 6' of pipe extension on a breaker bar, bouncing it. That's what... maybe 930+ ft/lbs?

Crank pulley machining, undertray framing
Crank shaft pulley machining
The crank shaft pulley weighs 7lbs (I measured on a scale while holding it, then putting it down and observing the difference). I had thought to have it machined to a single pulley conversion to save weight. I won't be doing that because I'll lose the hex shaped spot for the pulley holder that you need when removing and installing the pulley. Also, there seems to be a rubber "balancer" in the pulley, which would be damaged by machining for a single pulley. The weight loss is not worth it.
Undertray framing
Most of the time I have for the car is taken up with repairs right now... but I did mount the framing under the car, making some spacers from used PVC type pipe.
Progress requires patience.
