This is the valve extension hose that I will be using on the air bag spring.
Stainless Steel Spare Tire Inflator - Wheel Masters 82286-S - Tire Accessories - Camping World
Doing some rough estimating with some Foamular sheets, it looks like to bring the top, bottom, and sides to a concluding point, it will take about 4' more from the back of Dark Aero. That would make the end point about 11' from the back of the truck.

Why would you do that when Thee Template says it should slope to the departure line at it's present length?
Shouldn't you tear it down to the deck?

The extention was just to see how far the current angles would play out IF I wanted to see where it would end up. Now that I have the trailer receiver hitch in place, I can easily attach various experiments to see how they will play out and how much clearance I will need with the current configuration. I know that extending the current setup by 2' Dark Aero will just barely clear turns on the road but not very well in a parking lot.
Since the current version of the aero cap isn't as fast as the template, I was curious on where the convergent point would end up at. In order fer the aero cap and trailer to match up to the template, I would have to drop the back end of the aero cap main rails and rebuild everything. I'm not ready to do that just yet as I have more skill sets to build on first IF I move in that direction.
Dark Aero will be rebuilt to match the template once the aero cap is rebuilt closer to the template first. If anything, Dark Aero's rear deck would drop about halfway from where it is now. Fer now, I will work with what I have built up to the present.

Hard to tell with that shed roof in the background, but from this distance it looks like if you raise the contour of the aerolid in the center (make it a little more hump-backed) then all the change would be in the transition piece and the trailer.
I see a bit of the shed's post under the Template line.

Yes, I've got the hatch update waiting in the wings after the Christmas break to build the compound curve into it.
The aero cap section just past the tail gate is not as fast as it should be. This is the main reason why Dark Aero ended up with a shallower angle instead of following the template. Dark Aero 2 will probably be the platform to test out a few angles out before I transfer them over to Dark Aero. As simple as it may seem, the upper horizontal gap covers will be critical in the transition from the aero cap to Dark Aero. I will have to build a curve into them as well as the canopy cover. I don't believe that Dark Aero will initially follow the template until I git better in my build skills.

Lay and Dark Aero
Here is Kamm's,FKFS' Walter lay-based research model, which was 'Kamm'd' on the roofline with the truncation portions.
The 'full Monty' is similar to Dark Aero, and measures Cd 0.12 with full 'skirts.'
BZP's mileage is so high, compared to his original baseline mpg, that I' feel like Dark Aero will be dancing in 0.12 territory when the front wheels get some women's clothing.

So 30.56% of the original area of the rear of the truck including the rear wheel strakes and rear diffuser. About a 69.5% reduction over 7' of boat tail.

Would I calculate the widest and tallest point of the rig in comparison to the end of Dark Aero to determine the overall wake reduction percentage?

That would be a limiting case, multiple by 0.89 because it's not a full rectangle.
If it's not exactly 0.89 you can get back to me on that.

What is the background of the multiplier of 0.89?
I'm only doing a rough estimate as my precision calipers won't make it around the rig just yet.
My question still hasn't been answered...
