Good to read another update, Rick. Now rest up and take care of that back!

I'm trying to rest up -- boring, though. It's only a matter of time and effort to get back to normal.
The Civic Hybrid drivers' experiences and education have been a vast help with fine-tuning driving technique (nearly the same setup). The batt isn't the latest-and-greatest, but it does the job. You just have to repay the battery after you use it. Route knowledge/selection is crucial.
"Eco" mode is best suited for in-town speeds or decel (engaged, it more aggressively charges the system and mutes throttle input). Like any vehicle, it takes some vigilance to achieve above-average numbers.
I really want to do a "Long-Term Test" of sorts. I really enjoy driving it, and what it offers...
