Are you sure it didn't damage the structure of your car due to the impact?

That is always a possibility. And sadly, if it did, I just got tires and an alignment, which was quite expensive.

If the impact was enough to notice then there was attach point/frame damage. However that probably should not affect alignment settings

Well, hopefully... I remember some tow hitch makers stating it could actually protect the cars from damage in case of a minor crash, yet it was not true at all...

' Bage''
I saw a similar setup in Amsterdam back in 1997. Small-displacement, single cylinder engine as well.
I re-configured a yard-sale, all-aluminum, dual, baby-buggy, ordinarily 'pushed' from behind by a mother while doing aerobic walks; turning it into a pull-behind 'trailer' for my bike, trike, and electric scooter. It has an all-weather 'body', made from a re-purposed, 'S-Cargo', rooftop cargo carrier, also from a yard sale.

While side-cars and tricycle conversions have been more usual in Porto Alegre, there was a lot of those motorcycle trailers in Bagé. Been there before in 2016, but didn't see so many motorcycles pulling trailers as I have seen while I was there more recently.

Of course the optimum is the 35' R-license park model. This one lack certain household utilities (like a bathroom?). But as a simple room, it's A-okay.
justacarguy.blogspot.com: 1927 Holt trailer is up for sale on Bring a Trailer... no reserve, and it's only at 8400...
Note the four leaf springs on a single axle.

My trailer has been getting use lately.
A yard of compost for the wife's garden, and some 16' lumber to replace the rotted deck railing.
It'll start getting use to haul a 16ft canoe to the reservoir soon. Happy 1st day of summer.
I'll need a pickup and trailer for camping in a week.

Might be the only way to provide adequate strenght while keeping the overall height a little lower, compared to fitting all those springs on just 2 assemblies.
