i am having the HX tuned within the next 2 weeks and will have final results in 2 to 3 weeks. We should see some really nice gains. Also these will be reported under "normal" driving techniques. not using any hypermiler tech.
This will be using OBD1 ecu and jumper harness to achieve the tunning capabilities needed. And forementioned ECU's with conversions and tune, should be available in 3-4 weeks.

thanks to everyone for their warm welcome and interest in our shop.
These HX ECU's will be fully custom HX specific tunes (not just VX ecu's)
they will have full a full NEPTUNE liscense and will be HX specific. But there will also be opportunities in the near future for VX and other model specific for Honda civics (LX,DX,EX).

The HX ECUs will still be OBDII, right?

If you do vx version that can be tuned to run a bit leaner then count me in.

Stay on topic!!!! We are focused on the neglected HX here. you go back to your easy to engage lean burn.... j/k. It sounds like they will be doing both as well as their JDM D15B.

Looking for any info RE CA vs Federal for 6th gen HX lean burn.

I've got a 2000 Cali HX, 5spd (5wire o2 present). Ultragauge indicates 0 voltage for lean burn and I can stay in that above ~2400 rpms, 5th gear when warmed up. I can go up to 30% throttle w/o it kicking out depending on engine load.

Annoying thing: to FIRST get into lean burn, I need to be around 60mph and warmed up to 180* it seems. Won't get into lean burn if speed is much higher for the initial LB. Once its been in LB initially, I can get it to go back in at much higher speeds (60-75 mph easily). Occasionally I'll hold lean burn below 60 mph, but not often.

Seeing as I have a functioning LB Cali HX, what, if anything would a Federal ECU do? Are there differences? Would be cool to know if it actually would increase MPGs for hwy cruising (70-75mph).

the differences I explained in post #9

basically easier to get it in and out of lean burn. and you dont have to be super careful w/ the throttle to keep it in lean burn. i've been driving on the FED ECU for a few weeks now, and my initial assessments were spot on. i havent noticed much different since then. i keep modding the aero on my car, so its hard to say highway MPG of FED VS CA ECU. but once i stop modding the aero and get that settled, then i will be able to do a 1:1 comparison

I, along with a few others I'm sure, will be eager to see a 1:1 comparison results.
When I first read this thread and review your post #9, my stock CA car/ECU seems to behave that way, which is why I'm interested in seeing if there are any steady-state hwy MPG differences (ie Federal allowing a leaner ratio than CA) and not just the actual time difference/ability to stay in lean burn. I can stay in fairly easily even with 70+mph speeds.

Looking forward to updates.

I'm likely doing some light, unnoticeable aero mods with my next oil change. Been just getting my HX back to showroom running condition with tune-up parts and EGR chamber cleaning so far. I like having the info from other 6th gen HX owners on here.
