I guess certified would do though, but am not sure of that yet.
What math gets you from $27,495 which is list price for a base Bolt plus destination to $12,000 for a new Bolt? That would need to be $8K in local and state incentives.

The blue book on my Bolt has been dropping fast - down $8K in a year since GM dropped the MSRP on the Bolt AND they are available on dealer lots again without mark-ups.

You roll the dice and take your chances. Some people were planning to do that with the 2020 - 2022 Bolts and then GM spoiled their plans by finding another fix approved by the NHTSA.

I doubt you will find many 2017 - 2019 Bolts without the recall. 18 months ago almost 2/3rd of those vehicle had replacement batteries fitted. Unlike owners of the 20-22 models - those of us with 17-19 Bolts not only got a new battery with a new warranty but the new battery was 10% larger. So there was extra incentive. Plus many people had done the earlier recall that limited battery capacity to only 80%.

My Bolt battery is warrantied to 2030.

Beginning January 1, 2024, the new bill also establishes an additional tax credit of $2,500 for EVs with an MSRP under $35,000. This means that Colorado residents who buy an EV that costs under $35K will get both the $5,000 state EV tax credit and the $2,500 additional incentive – on top of the $7,500 federal tax credit.

So take $15,000 off of any qualifying EV. It makes me wonder if I should look for buying an EV, but I think realisitcally it's best to just keep driving my current car until it stops working and really needs replacing. But I'm no financialy expert, so I'm not sure.

Sounds like Colorado is where Arcimoto should be unloading their excess inventory.

Yesterday was our second snow. It's only going to get down to 16 °F tonight. I'm not sure if the Arcimoto would be a good fit unless it had heated everything.

I mean hatchbacks, not compact station-wagons or minivans (actual minivans, not the oversized American ones which end up being a luxury car elsewhere).

I was looking to for somewhere to post this, and it dropped me into the thread at #81. Verrrry interesting, then at #83 Isaac Zachary mentions $200 piston and cylinder sets. I went to sleep last night wanting that. What source would you suggest? Anyways...

someone in South Carolina got 949,863 miles from their 1996 Toyota Avalon... that's easily 20 years with no car payments!

AA brand cylinder and cylinder sets are top notch. Their stock 1,600 cc set is what I got for my Bug and they are high quality. Many have said that they are higher quality than the Mahle cylinders. For an example, the AA's can come within a gram of each other, whereas the Mahle may need to be balanced.

Last time I bought Mahles, they came both ways, but their specs on balance were loosey-goosey for a hotrodder: better than factory, less than what you could do at home with a balance scale and patience. As sold, they were close enough for an 1600.
