But Artan, why do you clean your air filter so often? Unless you drive on very dusty roads all the time, it seems like spending a lot of time. I maybe check and clean my filter every 5000km unless there is a lot of driving on dry gravel.
How much oil did you add when you changed your oil filter? If it was a litre then you added fresh additives for a few more thousand kilometers, so technically you are still in the safe zone with this oil that is meant for 30 000kms.

Kosovo roads are quite dirty with dust, i clean the air filter often, every 1000 miles or so. Everytime i clean it quite a lot of dust is blowing out. I dont drive off road. I clean the air filter so often cause diesels consume quite a lot of air and must be clean air. Since i am not changing the oil again i will also never change the air filter but i will regularly clean it with air pressure gun.

When i changed the oil filter at 30.000 km i did not add oil becuase the oil filter is like a cartrige type. It is only paper where you fit it in and close it with the cover/cap. Very small amount of oil will be lost i think about 0.03 l. My Passat 1.9 TDI is turbo equiped, the oil level should be normal within the limits cause if i go a little above normal level the turbine will push it out where it has two small holes. Since 35000 km i added 0.3 liters of fresh oil. Full oil capacity in the engine is 4 liters.

Welcome to ANAC diagnosis official website ! sell oil analysis kits through the 'net, the results come in by e-mail.

They want 75 euro / analysis though, so on a passenger car it's usually cheaper to change the oil ...

Well say what you will but some cars may do just fine with not changing the oil. My ex took back her car from her former husband who had never changed the oil. The car was a 1998 ford escort. It had 120k on it and when I changed the oil it came out black as coffee. But the car had no issues. She drove it for a couple of months before we sold it and it ran fine.

I know many cases that people did not change the oil for very long time and their cars had no issues but it is hard to convince people becuase of marketing. Nearly 37000 km on my car without oil change everything is perfect.

Is oil really so expensive?! Extend changing interval to double if you really want, but never changing oil seems just stupid! I would better use 2x cheaper oil and change it more often than put best oil in and never changing it again.

You can change anything in the vehicle but the reason we are discussing here is do we really need an oil change or not.

Probably you can get away never washing a car also, it does not broke in 10.000miles but
* it looks nicer when it is clean
* probably it does get rusted sooner if you don not clean your car

Same thing with oil
* it does get worn quicker if oil is old and there are burning leftovers and metal particles

Seems common sense to me. Every oil company would be proud to present oil which does not need replacing at all. But they dont have such oil.
