My electricity is up to $2 a KWHR because my states republicans choose to pad power company pockets and subsidize industry at the detriment of savers.

Does the number above represent my ev cost?

Nope because I wouldn't disconnect from the grid if I sold my car, it's a fixed cost like rent, might as well divide my rent cost into my power cost as well

I thought WI had voted Democrat since 1984. How can you blame Republicans for WI problems?

Power costs are regulated at the local level by appointed state agents, the governor and state assembly have been in democrat hands 4 years (being very generous) since 1988.

Our immense debt in the form of municipal bonds, which we don't count as debt
Our wasteful road and power grid policies
Our foolish refusal of federal money
Our completely failed economic development boon doggie office that doesn't have to report who gets the loans that arenever repaid
And I could go on
all originate from republican initiatives, many under Mr Walker some due to the republican assembly , some even span back to taxin tommy Thomson and his hand chosen spend millions on an office ideot who took his place.

When a democrat was either in office or in the assembly little happened, just gridlock.

Our policies and economy at a state level are fully in republican control and for all practical purposes always have been.

Lookup our states ranking on most any regard, the few highlights are leftovers from the moderate republican tommy Thomson.

Republican only = mediocrity

Can you post a photo of your electric bill showing the billed kWhs and the total dollar amount?

The $2 a kw comes figured using the method you described my bill is 99% fees during the summer, its not that the bill is high or that 9.x cents a kw is high, it's that my usage is low.

Historically my electric bill was quite literally $6 a month including fees, now it is physically impossible to get less than a $47 a month bill with zero usage

You do the math, I could easily be off grid and solar because my usage is very small.

Ok. That's what I thought. You are using a HUGE EXAGGERATION by saying that electricity is that high in your area and then blaming it on politics.

You told me to use my full bill divided by kilowatts used to get a cost for my ev then say it's a huge exaggeration.
So you made my point why you should use the per kw cost to determine how much an ev actually costs. Dividing the whole bill is just stupid.

And a 400% + increase in electric rates for 25% of customers is a BIG DEAL and NO EXXAGGERATION.

With or without my ev my monthly utility bill stays around $50is, in other words even for me can't hardly tell the difference

It is a political issue, I posted one political individuals (on the board) extreme dissatisfaction (on the record with the court) with the very poor decisions made on behalf of the public, it's in one of my threads here if you wish to educate yourself on why individuals electric prices are political and have very little to do with real cost to the utilities.

Ok. The fixed fees are frustrating. I understand. But if you had a long commute in an EV and were using 300 kWh / month in the car, your electricity would be back to $.12/ kWh like the rest of us. You made it sound like everyone in your area was paying $2 because of politics.

Yes and no. Driver error was believing that the 'Autopilot' feature would work correctly, which it obviously didn't.

You think maybe the fact that there aren't that many Teslas out there might have something to do with that?

Which is probably a good thing, given the decision to add the 'Autocrash' feature :-)

No just everyone in a 4 plex that has gas heat, oh and the guy upstairs in my duplex has a similar bill to mine, he isn't there much and efficient devices.

My folks live in a full old house and usually are under 150kwhr a month
