Elitists have always been there. Why they only get criticized when they start having an eye for the environment beats me.
If you want to blame someone for wasting energy, blame f.i. Larry Ellison instead.
When I think I know what is true, for good reason, people who say I'm in a cult says more about themselves than about me.
You are not trying to be nice. You are insulting people who don't share your views all the way.

If the dude has multiple heated or cooled empty mansions he obviously doesn't care about the environment at all.
Only what it can do for him.

If it is true.
"The National Center for Public Policy Research, founded in 1982, is a non-partisan, free-market, independent conservative think-tank"
Oh yeah.
But I don't care what Gore does in his free time. Climate change does not depend on what he does alone. Gore is just a messenger, a signpost. And apparently, just as a signpost, he has not reached where he's pointing at.
It does not make the message itself less true.

Aaaaand... after four thousand posts... we're back at Al Gore.
Because what politicians do ultimately decides whether something is right or wrong... right?
Not like the elite have always lived in their own world.
Not like we've been repeating these sentiments:

Al Gore is a good example of human nature though. Someone who studied atmospheric carbon build up wih the pioneering professors as far back as 1969, makes movies about atmospheric carbon, and yet finished up with politics to parlay his message into $200 million in personal wealth and live in a mansion consuming 19,000 kWh per month.
.
The whole world unconciously aspires to be like him. Live a life of fossil fueled luxury but buy carbon offsets on someone elses land.

I'm not a proponent of lumping all sources of "RE" together to get a high number and implying it as a modern success story. hydro is already fully utilized in developed countries like UK and Germany. And they both get 2 times more energy from fire wood than from wind and solar combined. It is misleading because when the media says "RE", most people think they are talking about wind and solar.
.
Rural Afghanistan is the world leader, getting 97% of their energy from "RE"...
.
using firewood and dung.
.
https://www.researchgate.net/publica...nable_energies
.
UK currently gets 2.2% from wind, some of it offshore, and .5% from solar. If UK wants 50% of it's energy from wind, an area equivilent to 1/4 of the country will be required for the wind farms. If they want the other half from solar, another 1/8 of the land mass will be needed for the solar farms.

Scientists created ways to produce clean treated water along 20 century, a revolution at the time, and today fight to find better and more economic ways to bring clean treated water to help poor countries or ways to recycle water in places with limited water resources.
But wait, californian millionares are paying more than 5 dollars per liter of dirty water :

If I get water from my toilet, and label as natural water rich in probiotics, I bet there will be milionaires to buy it.

Brilliant! You could market the toilet water under the brand name Teliot.
Of course, Evian spelled backwards is naive. Coincidence?
Does Gore at least have solar panels on the roof of any of his homes to give the appearance of environmentalism?

None of the satellite images I have seen of his places have any solar panels. But I don't know for sure that I have seen images of all his mansions.
I would think if he did his worshippers would provide tons of free advertising. But these mansions would need their own solar farm to provide most of the power they need.
He doesn't even believe the bull he is spewing. In 2006 he said the sea levels could raise 10 or 20 feet by 2013.
But with the money he made off the movie in which he said that bs line he bought a multi million dollar beach front mansion.
Almost like he is rubbing in the fact that his believers are gullible.
