This was the key to their downfall. On top of that, extremely cheap Chinese PV panels getting dumped on the market.

Bloomberg reported in 2011 that Solyndra's $733 million plant had whistling robots and spa showers, along with many other signs of extravagant spending.[31]

This isn't illegal, but definitely not helpful either. At the time they should have known they could not afford it.

Also in 2011, a US Department of the Treasury official confirmed that the criminal probe of Solyndra is focused on whether the company and its officers misrepresented the firm’s finances to the government in seeking the loan or engaged in accounting fraud.[32] Newly revealed emails showed that the Obama administration had concerns about the legality of the Department of Energy's loan restructuring plan and warned OMB director Jeffrey D. Zients that the plan should be cleared with the Department of Justice first, which the Department of Energy had not done. The emails also revealed that, as early as August 2009, an aide to then-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had asked a Department of Energy official if he could discuss any concerns among the investment community about Solyndra but that the official dismissed the idea that Solyndra had financial problems.[33]

So the administration had concerns, but the department was stifling it?

Everyone knew china was crashing the price per watt of solar panels. Except for the US government.
So it's not Obamas fault, it was just the people he appointed to run these agencies and advise him. It was their fault.
I believe there is an old saying that pretty much sums this up: "you are only as good as the company you keep".

Obama was ok, no bill Clinton by any stretch.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Those Koch guys are alright. With out them the carbon cap and tax scam would have likely passed and we would all be broke and nothing would have changed.

It's way above zero. In the USA right now happiness starts to level off at about $65,000 for a family of 4 in non-metro areas of neither coast. Much higher in demand areas.
