"Moving towards a regenerative human culture depends on first stopping and then reversing this steady trend towards Overshoot Day occurring earlier and earlier each year. Until one day in the future we can celebrate the fact that Earth overshoot day exists no longer and we have collectively managed to meet human needs within the limits of the planet’s capacity to regenerate and provide.

Sounds idealistic and utopian? Well, the science is simple: there is no other way to chart our path into a distant future on this planet. We need to first roll back Earth Overshoot Day and then begin to create a culture that aims to leave a richer, more vibrant and more ecologically productive planet to each subsequent generation."

Anyone who has ever carried a backpack for some distance knows you can make do with limited resources. We could all be happy campers.

If you have some information that would modify my understanding of the situation,I'd be more than willing to look at it.

U.S.National Security and Climate Change

I GOOGLED: Pentagon position paper on climate change. It took me to a Department of Defense website, and a July 29,2015 report:
'National Security Implications of Climate-Related Risks and a Changing Climate.' The report is presented in its entirety.
US taxpayers kicked in $22,000 for the report.
It starts out with:
'The National Security Strategy, issued in February,2015,is clear that climate change is an urgent and growing threat to our national security.........'
This topic had come up many months ago,and I'm just now finding time to explore the origins of the subject. This data would be 'the horse's mouth'.
Anyone interested can look at the remainder of the material.

Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory,Columbia University,Earth Institute,is one organization doing climate modeling.
Anyone curious about where some of the climate model predictions come from, would find some of those materials sourced from this organization.
If you'd like to skip the hype, spin, and fake news about climate change, this would be a reliable source for data. It's another 'horse's mouth.'

Pilgrim nuclear power plant is being shut down:

https://www.wbur.org/tag/closing-pilgrim

It had an emergency shutdown a few weeks ago, because it had a cooling pump wiring problem. This is about the 4th or 5th emergency shut down it has had, in just the past year or two.

Let's replace with wind turbines that effectively have emergency shutdowns several times daily.

I wonder if employees at Pilgrim are giving 100% effort/attention despite knowing their job is being eliminated.

That's a real story? If so, pretty funny. Well, funny regardless.
